Is there anyone on this board who closes inground pools, or can show me how to put the anti freeze in the lines , for a reasonable fee

I'm going to close my pool myself this year after watching it being done twice and doing a little research. The link below gives a pretty good description of what to do and they say not to use anti-freeze that is just messes things up when you open in the spring. They say to blow the lines out, plug them and put something in the skimmer to allow for the ice expansion (that's what I plan to do). The folks that closed my pool never used any anti-freeze. They drained the pool to below the jet level but I'm not sure I'll bother with that this time as the water level has been raised to overflow both winters with just the rain and snow fall!

I would not go without the antifreeze, a lot of your underground lines could break, a big expense if that happens

That's why you blow the water out of the lines with an air compressor or a shop vac and plug them so they are just filled with air. If you put anti-freeze in the pipes how are you going to clean it out when you open the pool? I know the stuff they use for plumbing is supposed to be non-toxic but I don't want it in the pool upsetting the balance and doing who knows what to the chlorine generator.

The people that closed my pool in the past, always put antifreeze, my pool always has been crystal clear, when I open it.
