Its reassuring to hear positive things about Mattamy... particularly on this forum where we all read a lot of b*tching and complaining about them!

We too have had an excellent Mattamy experience. They've been so accommodating to our requests all through the build, doing things like raising the ensuite lights & redrywalling after we realized the default location was too low for our aftermarket mirrors, moving the island to a custom-requested location before plumbing/attaching it, and many more things like that. They really bent over backwards to satisfy us wherever they could and our experience has been very positive.

We've been here for over a year now, and our experience with Mattamy has always been positive.

What can I tell you, we love our house, and we have no complaints... it's been a good experience for us. I know some people don't want to hear that, but I can only speak on our experience, and our experience with mattamy has been very good so far.

I worked with my dad for many, many years. He had a construction company of his own. Working with him made me realize that things will go wrong in the construction of a new house.

Workers are in rush and skip important steps, the brick layers build walls crooked, the shingles don't always line up the way they should and the plumber tightens the bolts down too hard causing the toilet break off its mounts in two years (my house).

Having said that...I am very impressed with Mattamy. They demand quality from their workers and they get it. The minor (minor) problems I have seen in my house are not even worth mentioning considering the problems I have seen with other companies, (and they fixed them).

Small business owners usually take the time to do things right and big business could care less. Mattamy is an exception to that rule.
