Hold on, there's something here I don't quite get;
This whole thing about ashphalt plants shutting down over the winter.... hmmm. What part of that doesn't makes sense?
I mean don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's you Colin, i understand you are just passing along the messaage, it's the message I have a problem with.
Now, the explanation sounds reasonable, but here's the thing, ashphalt over by the new Shoppers and Tim hortons was put down over the winter, that hasn't been an issue... but even more telling... why the hell would they start this project so late, if they knew they couldn't finish before these plants shut down for the winter? I don't know about you, but what's the point, to have an unfinished road through the winter, with pylons, and half excavated roads everywhere... yeah that's pleasant....
Furthermore, we have been lucky this year with not a lot of snow (knock on wood), but if we had a typical winter snowfest, wouldn't Derry between Scott and Bronte be a lot more dangerous with all that unfinished construction and a new bed of snow covering everything up?
Again, Colin, I'm not pointing this at you, you were nice enough enough to pass along the information, but here's a message you can pass back ... WTF? This is stupid! If you know these ashphalt plants shut down by a certain time, and obviously they know that, and if they know how long it will take to do this project and that time will not be before the plants shut down until March, why did you start so late? And what was the point of only doing half a job?
I understand we live in a new area and there will be a lot of construction, i accept that.... but at least with the builders we see progress and they are trying to get it done.... this just seems so unnecessary...
Am I missing something here, or does this just sound stupid? Please, if I'm missing something, help me explain.... because i am so tired of hearing how our taxes are going to build new infrastructure, and they are very good about getting their money on time, but they seem to have a problem with delivering their part on time. I paid and continue to pay my part.... i'm not late, and if I am I'm held accountable... why is it they aren't?
Sorry, just a little sick and tired of seeing an unfinished road and nobody working on it.... and now hearing that the ashphalt people shut down over winter, just added more annoyance. Why even start? Better yet.... why start so late?
Why does there always seem to be a delay... tell you what , what if we decided not to pay our property tax on time. Let's see if I can come up with a lame ass excuse as well, how about the fact that our winters are so closed i have to wear gloves until spring. And I have to wear them all the time, because the cold can lead to pain in my joints, so I need to keep the gloves on. now since i'm wear my big bulky gloves, because they are the only ones that keep my hands warm and prevent my joints from hurting, they make it very difficult to hold a pen. Now since i can't hold a pen, i can't write a cheque, or use a keyboard to pay on line or anything like that, so I have to wait until April or May when it starts to warm up, and i can finally remove my gloves, so i'm sorry but I won't be able to pay my taxes until then... that's about the same dumbass lame excuse that i just heard for them not doing anything to the finish the roads until march... How would they feel about that? I'm guessing they would just charge me interest like there's no tomorrow, so maybe we should pay less for every day, week, month they are late with their schedule as well.
I know you think I'm being stupid, that's okay, I think they are too.
