Do we know when the grocery store name will be released? I'm trying to be as patient as I encourage my 3.5 year old to be but it's so HARD

LOL no problem, after all, there are a lot of people on here with a lot to say... some actually have merit :) Score 1 street cred point for me I guess.

Good assumption... if one does still exist, I'm guessing it would have to be for the bank.

Sweet!

My prayers have been answered and a Grocery Store is coming to the West End (I Hope...).

It wouldn't have made a lot of sense for 3 plaza's within a short distance of each other having all kinds of various retail outlets. I think it's great that the plaza on the North/West corner will have the outlets and the South/West with the main anchor store for the area.

Not to mention the outlets that will open up in the Shoppers plaza down the street.

Here's hoping for a No Frills (with decent quality produce) :)

I'm doubting it'll be a Food Basics as it's close to one down the road. As well No Frills is usually a large store, and I don't see it fitting in. I bet you it'll be a Price Chopper. It'll match the colors across the street with the Rexall :) lol

I just hope with this grocery store opening, that the neighbourhood is not going to be littered with shopping carts.

Personally, I like South St. better than Licks (but both are much better than Hero IMO)

You're in luck...they just opened a Licks at Winston Churchill and Argentia (Beside Future Shop)....much closer than driving into Oakville.

Wow, I don't know if I should be happy or upset - I was really, really looking forward to a coffee shop, but to be able to walk for my groceries... AH!

My guess is that it will be a Longo's store. They have stores all around us in Burlington, Oakville and Mississauga, and they often build on in this type of plaza.

I hope it's a Longo's, too. I like my fancy mustards and condiments from them, as well as their salad and olive bar. I sometimes drive to the Longo's in Burlington at Dundas and Walker's Line to get my fix.

I hope it is a Starsky Foods. If you have ever been to one you will understand.

I totally hope it's a No Frills!! Or failing that then a Price Chopper. All you high society types can keep flushing your extra cash down the toilet :), but personally I'd love to see cheaper groceries in town.

There did used to be a Sobey's Express in Milton but it closed up sometime in 2008 IIRC, I think due to lack of shoppers.

No-Frills / Price Chopper / Food Basics change the character and feel of the neighbourhood. I hope we don't get those
I am excited about a grocery store though.

Thank you for saying what I was hesitant to..

I think I remember reading that it would be a 10,000 sq. foot grocery store. How big is that? How would that compare to Superstore or no frills?

Actually, now that I think about it, it's just 2.5 of Mattamy's 4000 sq. ft house. lol. I don't think that's very big, so maybe it'll just be a convenience store?

Colin:

Seeing as it seems like the "official" plans have changed. Could you possibly let everyone know how big the grocery store is slated to be and provide a revised drawing since the ones that are on this post seem to be outdated.

Thank you
