I can't remember how many months ago but they took a whole slew of 43' lots and made them 36' lots, I believe the Upland may have been a 43' lot when Vista was started. I think it has the same garage size as most 43' lots.

When we bought there were no 36' homes with more than one laneway, not 1 1/2 just one so I suspect this was originally a 43' so it shouldn't be an issue.

Hello all,

We were just up at the site and noticed lots and lots of doors with new red bows on the front doors. I guess a lot of people are moving in now and will enjoy Christmas in their new homes. It is all moving along fast now.

While we still have a few months until closing we are wondering if any of the new homeowners could share pictures of their new houses. Time-permitting as I can imagine it's a busy time.

We are wondering how other people's choices have come together. We would love to see the kitchen/bathroom layouts especially- cabinet finishes, quartz/granite/laminate, tiles, etc.
Are people happy with Frendel since Frendel is fairly new as the cabinet supplier for Hawthorne Village.

Other pics are welcome. It would be nice to see the interior choices and how they work (hardwood choices, paint, carpet colours, etc.)

Thanks so much.
:D
Happy Holidays all!

Hi All,

Happy holidays to everyone!

Tomorrow is our big day- it's been a longggggggggggg time coming- well 571 days or 1 year, 6 months and 22 days or 822, 240 minutes but who the heck is counting?

Satmatrix that is a great idea! I will definitely be taking pictures and will try to post them before the house is overtaken with furniture. Hopefully some others who have taken possession will do the same. :)

Hello Vista neighbours;
I saw many homes in Vista with Bell dish installed. Have heard some horror story about Bell billing errors, crappy customer service and capped bandwidth for internet service etc.
How did you find Bell service in Vista so far? I am still debating whether I should go with Bell bundle for HDTV, internet and phone or have a HD antenna for OTA installed, Acanac for internet and Bell for phone. Has anyone tried Cogeco in Vista? Is it same as Rogers or any different?

Buttafly77 - your home is absolutely amazing! I LOVE your kitchen - especially the backsplash.

Hope you have a wonderful holiday season in your new home!

Sounds about right...

Mattamy was kind enough to put gravel in our backyard for our puppy. We were tired after 4 months of mud on our new hardwood floors. I was calling fairly often and they were trying to come back to get just our house (on our street) but we missed the weather by about a week.

so far the gravel has been a huge improvement but of course she wanders to the sump pump and tries to catch the water and manages to find any small amount of mud! LOL

Buttafly- your house looks fabulous congrats!

Hey strangers. Its gotten quiet in here -- probably due to so many people moving in and being busy with that.

We still have just under 30 days to go (yay)

Question for those on Wettlaufer: Is mail pickup at the post office, or are the superboxes in temporary locations??

Thanks! And join you soon!

Hi Devious-
Mail pick up is at the temporary mailbox location on Pringle (near the Tremaine entrance), but you will need to go into the post office with the paperwork to get your key, they'll keep your mail there until you sign for your key.

We also have scheduled waste pick up now. Can't wait for sod.... we did recently get a letter stating that they are planning and gearing up to do this in the spring.

It sure if different after being on the street for 6 months both our direct neighbours have finally moved in within the last two weeks. It sure is a nice change but a little odd we kind of got used to staring at construction.

Enjoy and welcome to the street!

Hello Coombs Cr. neighbours

Glad to see so much interest in your new neighbourhood.
For anyone interested in the design of Tremaine Road between Derry Road and the new Main St. traffic circle there will be a public information centre on Thursday March 4th between 6 and 8.30 pm. at the Milton Sports Centre meeting room #2 on the north side of the rinks to present the proposed designs for the road, walkways and landscaping along this section of road which is scheduled to be completed by March 31st 2011 as part of the Federal/Provincial Infrastructure program.

Check www.halton.ca for more details under Tremaine Road construction.
I will also be posting this information on other threads and sites for all the neioghbours of Tremaine Road to be informed and involved in the design.

Hope to see you there.

Hey guys, just encourage you to attend this public information session. I think that with Tremaine Rd being so close to our street and being one of the main street's for our community, we should have our 2 cents/input for development. We plan on attending this info session and hope to see you there. :P
