Hi All,
I live in ward 6 and want to start the thread for any issues in the area. I will start first with the future expansion of 4th line. What are the plans for this rd?

As far as I know the future plans for Fourth Line SOUTH of LSL havent been finalized yet as its part of the Boyne Survey. MY assumption would be that it would be either kept at 2 lanes or potentially widened to 4. There is a high school being built at the corner of LSL and Fourth Line, which unfortunatly been delayed.

Being at the regional level Colin might have an idea also of what the plans are.

Hi Kiddan and Mike

Both 4th Line and Louis St. Laurent Blvd. are Town roads.

You might want to check first with the Town Engineering department to find out what is happening in your ward. Most of the information is available on the town website www.milton.ca and type in Fourth Line to see the details.

Just remember Milton has two Fourth lines one in former Trafalgar township (this one) between Derry road and Lower Base Line and one in the former Nassagaweya township between 10th and Eramosa/Milton Townline.

Milton/Halton
Candidate for Local & Regional councillor
Wards 2,3,4,5. North of Derry Road.

Colin & Mike,
Was reading another thread about condo going up north of Derry around 4th line. But someone mentioned land south of Derry around 4th line is also zoned for condo development? Can you guys please tell me exactly where?

Thanks

OK, I found the details on the condos south of Derry along fourth line. Colin & Mike, are you guys going to support the condo project? Your thoughts and how it will impact traffic on 4th line...

Hi Kiddan and Chraggie

Thanks for your posts and concern for your neighbourhood.

Now there is candidates for all the southern wards 1,6,7,8. I believe it is important to hear first from each candidate where they stand on these ward issues not just my own opinion which you will hear when this application is presented to Council.

As of yesterday there has been no initial meetings have been scheduled for this application or others that have been mentioned recently on the villager. (see attached)

http://www.milton.ca/execserv/agendas20 ... eports.pdf

You might want to also ask your local & regional candidate for the South of Derry ward as well for their opinion.

Colin Best
Local & regional councillor
Milton/Halton
Candidate for Local & regional councillor
Wards 2,3,4,5. North of Derry road.

I just want the Town to do its due diligence on the potential traffic issue that we may face on fourth line down the road. We have the library, a daycare and a high-school planned on this little street already and eventhough the condo won't be facing fourth line (I think) but I wonder how many people will use it to go south...

Zman, just go for the Mayor's position as I doubt being a Councillor will help your plans for Milton...btw, I love the old quebec look

I have been telling him to run regionally. he is more involved than existing councillors. i honestly think he should just grab the regional seat. he has a shot.

I'd go for that too! So far don't like the options in Regional Ward 1.

Colin,

Thanks, but I was asking for Mike Cluett's stance on the condo plan south of Derry near 4th line.

And I know there are candidates running for the south wards in Milton. That is why I addressed my comment to Mike.

Again. This comment is directed to Mike Cluett, candidate for Ward 6.

Hi Chraggie,

I just sent you a message but I'll post the answer to the question here as well in case anyone had the same concerns.

I do apologize for not posting sooner on the board but its been incredibly busy with the Easter holiday and family obligations. I havent really had a chance to go over the details of the plan.

I do have concerns about the traffic and the safety of the pedestrians and the amount of traffic on 4th line because when you have the school and possibly the day care. My first instinct is to be very cautious about approving a large development that close to a very narrow street and a large school.

What I can promise is that I will be asking a lot of residents in the area for their opinions and keeping people informed on a regular basis.

I have always been disappointed with the lack of communication from our council members and part of my campaign back in 2006 and again in 2010 is communication. Keeping people up to date as to whats going on, when the meetings are and getting feedback from them so I can speak for you and everyone at the council table.

If theres any other questions you might have, please email me mike@mikecluett.ca as thats the best way to get a hold of me. I go on the Villager quite a bit but with work/family etc its harder to get on most days.

Thanks for the question...talk to you soon.
