Justagirl- that's correct for Futureshop warranty:it must break 4 times for a replacement.
My husband had purchased a futureshop warranty years ago for an old tv it broke only 3 times during the warranty- they even stopped coming before the warranty ended so we couldn't reach 4 failures. We will NEVER buy a warranty ever again.

I do believe it's 3 service calls plus a fourth break for Futureshop.

Sorry to hear that Zeeshan- we love our 750 series tv. We'd get one for my parents if they weren't discontinued.

I have the same problem with my 46" Samsung. Just off warranty I was essentially told that they never heard of the problem before!

I would not buy another Samsung. From what I understand from the internet it is a power supply problem that can be fixed with minimal efforts. I have not attempted to fix my TV yet as it will eventually turn on (after 10 or 15 minutes) and sometimes, on those lucky days, I do not even have the purple dots on my screen.

Good luck!

My wife and I had 2 identical LG cellphones about 4 years ago, they both died right after 1 year...coincidentally after the 1 year warranty.

2 years ago, we bought a Samsung laundry front load combo...only after one year the washer is a piece of junk.

I love Korean food, but after my experience with electronics/appliances, i will never buy something made by LG or Samsung ever again.

on the flip-side...after 2 years my Sony LCD and Panasonic Plasma are in fine form, and we watch tons of tv

My LG washer and dryer are running fine after 5 years
My LG french door fridge is still quietly running
I can't complain with them.

Maybe it depends on the model you buy. i always buy the top of the line stuff, whereas perhaps some of the middle to lower models, they cut corners?

I do know LG has double the warranty compared to all other appliances

My friend went through the process for a sumdung plasma.

You usually need the full credit card statement and the receipt.
He had to pay $15 to get an archived copy of the CC statement. He opted for a cash payout of the cost of the repair and threw out the TV and used that to subsidize a new one....

At my work we are replacing LCD monitors like crazy and have a few 15 ich CRT's still working in the warehouse. people talk about less energy consumption and all that but I find that most of the products these days are crap. No matter who makes them.

Matt
