Teksavvy's internet/phone price & service is second to none.

You can buy your own DSL modem, look up TP-Link 8816 modem for $20 dollars from a few stores in the GTA. The modem is cheap and is ADSL & ADSL2+ compatible.

I remember when ASDL modem used to cost $120+ to purchase!

By the way, Teksavvy does not resell Bell internet. They rent the last mile (from the CO to your house) from Bell.

The only thing they resell is the phone service and it is still the same line as Bell but $5-10 dollars cheaper than what Bell offers. Milton's base band price is $21.xx with 911 already included. Most of the additional feature (Caller ID, Voice Mail) is $3 dollars each and you can add the features as needed. There is no long distance plan charge and LD charge is way cheaper than Bell!

To sum it up: Teksavvy > Bell in sooo many ways. Sadly Bell owns the last mile lines or our internet plans would be faster & cheaper.

I'm up and running on TekSavvy now and have no complaints. It took a bit longer than expected to get things hooked up, but that was due to Bell taking their time and the long weekend didn't help either. TekSavvy was very good to deal with and I'm amazed at how fast you get hold of people in tech support.

The speed is good and I'm getting what they advertise, 5Meg down, 800k up. My upload speeds are actually better than Cogeco and more consistent. I'm on the plan with a 200GB cap and it comes in around $10/month less than I was paying Cogeco. For the same as what I used to pay Cogeco I can get unlimited bandwidth with TekSavvy.

All in all I'm pretty happy and would recommend them based on the experience so far.

I was with TS and I just made a switch to Cogeco (coming Tues). Nothing wrong with TS at all... great service and support was excellent. Just hoping for better d/l speeds with Cogeco (some u/l would be nice).

How was their d/l speeds? I'm hoping this new ultimate 30 they're offering means they solidified their network.
