I got the iPad on the second day, and in one word... AMAZING! I have never seen a screen as crisp as this one.

I have a question about the IPAD.

If i use a USB adapter, would i be able to use my mobile internet stick with it and avoid buying the 3G coverage plan?

There are rumours of an adapter for the 30pin to USB.
If or when that comes out then i should be able to use my mobile internet stick with the IPAD.

I seriously doubt that Apple would cannibalize their 3G iPad sales by enabling the 3G stick profile in their USB compatibility. That makes zero business sense, so don't count on it.

The HP Slate sounds interesting but it's got two major drawbacks right out the gate that Apple doesn't. It's running a Microsoft OS and it's engineered by HP. The Walmart and Sears of the tech industry.

Um, can you remind me which touchscreen smartphone available in Canada is superior to the iPhone 3GS?

Of course this is all a matter of opinion ... but any Android device, specially the NexusOne, Milestone. Even my perceived lowly Android 1.5 HTC Magic is superior in my opinion, even more so when it's updated to 2.1.

Always interested in what it is about Apple that makes people "hate" them? As someone who has worked in the IT industry for 22 years and has ample experience working with PC's and Mac's I've never really found anything to hate about Apple or their products. In fact, Apple is my preference for personal use.

Always love it when people give their resume like it's some sort of valid measure to the quality of the product they prefer. Why do I dislike apple products? Too many reasons to count. The short list would be:

1) Top to bottom control from Apple. I know this is one of the things people love about Apple, but in my opinion it leads to mediocre products as there can be no user driven innovation.

2) Advertising. Whatever ad agency Apple uses should get awards showered upon them. They've done such a great job of selling ideas and perceptions that Apple fanatics rival religious ones for ignoring facts.

3) Proprietary everything. Can't stand proprietary formats (software or hardware) by any company, and Apple is the king of it.

iPad's are a waste of money. Go get yourself a MacBook and at least you have flash, a camera, and USB.

Ive got an original HTC Touch Diamond, and I wouldnt trade for an iphone. Does everything I want it to do, does it well and does it quick, plus I can multi-task which for me makes the iphone a deal breaker.

Multitasking will be available with the iPhone 3GS this summer and the iPad this fall...

The HTC is a great phone as well though I have to say that even friends I have that work in the telecommunications industry, ie. Chris plus others at all three big companies (Telus, Bell, Rogers) have at times had iPhone envy. lol
