I am waiting for the new iPhone 4 to be released next month, so I can buy the 3GS at a cheaper rate.

Does anyone have an idea of how much less the 3GS will cost once the 4G is released?

(I was hoping there may be a wireless store owner on the site, with some insider info  )

Apple's website (US site) shows that once iPhone 4G is release, 3GS will be available for $99.

[quote="rino"]...3GS will be available for $99.

In US, not in Canada. Whatever price you see for 3G right now on Rogers website will likely be the price for 3GS once 4G comes out...

It's nice to see that this post is a couple hrs old, and Roxy hasn't bashed Apple yet.

Don - have you considered lightly used? there should be tons coming up for sale once the 4G is released. Even cheaper from the States, I'm guessing. I prefer new units with new batteries and unscratched housings, but everybody's different)

Wouldn't they be locked to a carrier from US?

Assuming they are not selling a scam phone tied to a contact that you'll have to pay, you should be able to unlock it, or buy one unlocked.
(I think?)
I've bought lots of stuff from the states, but no phones yet. Anyone have input here?

Get a product like this to unlock the 3G/3GS...

http://www.focalprice.com/MX192X/Univer ... _Card.html

No confirmation from me if it works - but there are options out there...

I'm selling my 3 month old iPhone 3GS 16GIG, Jail-broken on the 3.1.3 Firmware, currently locked to Fido.

It has had a screen protector on it since opening, It has been in a case since opening. Minor unavoidable surface scratches on the back of iPhone due to its glossy nature. iPhone will come with the box it came in with the power adapter and USB cable.

If anyone is interested let me know/PM me.

How much are you asking for it? I am with Rogers but Fido is owned by Rogers as well so not sure if I can transfer. Price will dictate is I want to undertake this hassle...

Well look at what the prices on eBay Canada are and you will see that the Apple iPhone 3GS 16 Gig is selling from 350 - 450 depending on condition.

I am willing to sell for around that price. I bought it for $550 bucks 3 months ago FYI.

Other than multitasking and a really sexy screen resolution is there anything major from a functionality stand point with the 4g over the 3g. My wife just ruined her phone and wants one.

the advertised prices are "new customer" prices...

If you are an existing Rogers customer, you can expect to pay about $150- $250 dollars above the advertised price
