Thank you big 3 for ruining the NBA. There really is no point to watching. Maybe the Lakers and Boston have a good chance against them. Orlando as well. All the other teams might as well fold...Go Leafs go...

Yeah think I'm pretty much done with the NBA. That hole ESPN thing was a bloody joke. Can someone tell me how Miami affords this? That's like over 60 million for just three guys. I assume they are going to be paying big time luxury tax??? Though I suppose those three guys are the team. How would you like to be a teammate of these three? Get to watch from the floor, maybe touch the ball once a night? Seriously, LeBron is going to need G20-like security when he goes back to Cleveland. You see the fans there burning his jersey??!!

Personally, Kobe and Jordan are in a league of their own. They didn't need 2 other max players to help them win. I'd love to see Chris Paul or an equivalent go to the Lakers. Anything that will prevent those 3 boneheads from winning is fine by me...

What a waste. Orlando and Toronto being in the same division are pretty much scratching their heads on what to do.

This whole Free Agency not only tarnished LeBron and Chris, but also the NBA.

I was very surprised. I totally expected him to stay at home.

The ESPN show was absurd and unnecessary. He basically used the show to assert his ego, and in the process, stomped on the hearts and souls of Cleveland fans. I feel sorry for them. Pardon me for saying, but he unleashed a Cleveland Steamer on the city!

That these 3 guys probably conspired to get together was pretty intricate. I hope they lack chemistry on the court and don't win anything. And I think Pat Riley will also push out Eric Spoelstra and become the coach.

Exactly. They brought championships to their cities, James needs to go to Wade to get him one.

I've lost all respect for A-Bron. I give him that name because like A-Rod, he may be the most gifted played in his sport's history, but he couldn't deliver a championship the way the truly great have done.

Perfect way to describe it.

If any of you follow realgm.com, there's already a (presently) 9-page thread in the Cavaliers forum from fans of other teams! All giving their sympathies to Cavs fans for the way they got screwed over.

I've never seen a player in any sport become such a universal villian the way James has. Outside of Miami, it seems the rest of the NBA fans hate him.

Wow, check out this Open Letter from Cav's owner Dan Gilbert

http://www.wkyc.com/news/local/story.as ... 6&catid=45

It appears that Lebron definitely screwed Cleveland over and did not do business in good faith.

Not good. He will be villified.

That has got to be fake... but if not, Dan Gilbert is my favourite sports owner ever!

In case it is fake and is pulled from the site, here is is:

Quote:
Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER 'KING' WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

Dan Gilbert
Majority Owner
Cleveland Cavaliers

Looks like it was a legit letter:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5365793

Quote:
CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert says LeBron James "quit" during the playoffs and should be accountable for his actions.

Gilbert, who posted a letter to Cavs fans on the team's website shortly after James announced he plans to sign with Miami, tells The Associated Press late Thursday night that he feels "personally betrayed" by James and that it's "accountability time."

In a phone interview with the AP, Gilbert says "people have covered up for [James] for way too long. Tonight we saw who he really is."

Gilbert says James quit on the Cavs during their second-round series against the Boston Celtics, who rallied from a 2-1 deficit to eliminate Cleveland.

In the letter posted on the Cavaliers' website Gilbert called the process on James' free agency "narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his 'decision' unlike anything ever 'witnessed' in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment."

Gilbert told Cavs' fans: "You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal."

I don't ever know where to start. It is obvious in hindsight that this was planned all along. These guys all signed 3 year deals together and seemed to have made one of those "if were aren't married by 40 let's hook up" deals only in search of a championship in this case while they were Olympic teammates from 2006 to present. Watching it was like watching porn. You knew a lot of people are watching it but you still felt dirty after. He dragged things out for 8 days and got on national tv for no reason given he already knew what he was going to do. This isn't good for the league and really tarnishes Lebron's legacy going forward even if he does win championships because he is on Wade's team.. Not his. The Jordan talk can now officially end. Think about it this way. What if Jordan in 1988 when he was about the same age as Lebron is now decided after getting his teeth kick in year after year literally and figuratively by the Pistons decided to leave to play for the Lakers. Magic was about the same age as Wade and already won championships. Would we look at Jordan the same way historically even if he went on to win multiple championships? No, because Jordan took a pathetic franchise like a Cleveland and turned them into a dynasty. He persevered, stuck it out, and eventually got a team around him and dismissed the Pistons in 1991 and the rest is history. Lead alpha dogs don't go to someone else's team. Other than that, Lebron who was one of my favorite players is now not. The funny thing is I hate the Lakers, well Kobe, but now I want them to beat the Heat if it ever gets there. I think a lot of fans will feel the same way. I think a lot of teams and players will get up for playing them on a night to night basis and are they up for that challenge?

Wade and Bosh had a documentary done about their free agency. It was reported that Bosh was more interested in the camera crew during the team presentations. Lebron has this hour special and made a host of demands on ESPN. Are these guys attention and media whores or professional athletes? Or is that what this generation of athletes have become. I don't know what to make of athletes nowadays. However, I should contrast that though with Durant who quietly re-upped with OKC. That's how it should be done and that is a young team I can cheer for that is going about it the right way. The way championships have been built historically. I guess I must be old school

I do not like the way this went down one bit. I'm a Raptors fan and I am miffed about what Bosh did. You want to leave, that's fine, but try and help out the team that made you. Also, the fact that there is now no sign and trade basically kills two franchises in less than a week (Toronto and Cleveland). This is not good for the NBA and if they do win, their legacies will be tarnished.
