So now that it looks like all the construction is done, and hopefully Grascan will be banished from Halton forever ...

How soon will the speed limit be raised back to 80 km/h? Going 60 along this stretch is impossible.

Hi Kevin & Amanda

I checked with regional staff, there is still some minor work to be done on the sides of the road which should be done this week. They expect to post the 80kmh signs in the next 1-2 weeks depending on contractors schedules.

Good news it's going back to 80 km/hr, it doesn't make sense if it stuck at 60 km/hr when construction is gone.

One day, sadly and eventually Derry Rd from JSP to 407 will be filled with houses and become a 60 zone.. adding more cars onto the already packed 401 at rush hour.. gotta love growth :)

I hope Colin is correct about the dates. I went back and checked my old post about the speed limit on Trafalgar after the 4 lanes were open. I first commented on Sept 16th which I think was a while after the lanes were opened. The speed limit was changed on Nov 19th!!

Maybe they'll do what they did on James Snow from Derry to St Laurent ..... NOT tell anyone they are raising it - catch a crap load of speeders and then change it ...... it worked once

I HATE doing 60 on this road - especially when I am the only one on it ..... Yes, there have been a few times when I'm the only car ...... Believe it .... or not .....

Yes the speed limit will be raised again when the construction crews are finished making gravel speed trap driveways along Derry Road to fund the rest of Halton Region. Yes I believe they are funding Halton Region by ticketing Miltonians along a stretch of Derry Road that has no children or homes for no reason other than to make money. The amount of Police cars along Derry Road since they opened it to four lanes has been quite impressive (especially since they are taking their time raising it back to 80 or even 70). I am all for enforcing the speed limit especially in school and residential areas but to focus along a stretch of Derry with no homes present is for the sole purpose of making money. The Region wouldn’t dare do this in Oakville – but hey Milton is perfect for this kind of cash grab.

Have to second the "cash grab" thoughts. Supposedly it's still 60 because of Grascan, but haven't seen them there for a couple days.... and if all they have to do is minor sidework, why is the entire stretch of road still at 60? Put it back to 80 and put "Construction Zone: Limit 60" signs around where they are working. That's like saying the entire 401 needs to drop down to 80 when they're working on Yonge street.

They weren't just grabbing east bound "speeders" but I saw one sitting in the Food Port driveway nabbing a pick up going west bound.

Must be that time of the month ... despite everyone vehemently denying quotas.

I don't usually take Derry home, but I wanted to see the bunnies and kittens house!

Anyhow, was happy to see signs were up for 80km/hour!
