Hi Coombsters! Hope everyone's been enjoying their summer so far! The houses are being built really quickly, it's exciting to see our street develop so fast...

Quick question! Does anyone know our new postal code yet? If so, can you please let me know? :)

Thanks!!
Christine

how do I post pics ? Can some one tell me plz ! thanks

You have to go to a photo hosting site. I use www.photobucket.com - its free. Get an account, upload your photo there. After the photo is uploaded, view your album, put the cursor over the photo you want to post or was just uploaded and it will show you 4 different links, you want the IMG code. Copy that code and paste it in the message. The image code will look like
[ IMG]http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq68/Totalpkg50/howtopostpics-1.jpg[/IMG ] <-- Something like that.

FYI guys, there is a Woodlily on Nunn Crt, just south of our street on a ravine lot listed at $659900 . W1933176 is the MLS number, but no pictures...Hopefully it sells for close to asking!

Wow. I sure hope it sells for close to that! Not that I'm planning to sell.....unless our current house doesn't sell! AHHHHHH!
Yeah, it's crunch time. I'll feel so much better when our house sells.
Anyone know someone that wants a house in old Milton?

Basically when they call they'll expect you to come within 2-4 days after calling you.

The line up at the new release is aparently up to 70+.

Our house as of last night:

A&A's house:

And I have to say, the security guy was great. I pulled up and just told him I was looking at our house and he moved the barricade so I could pull in and was really nice.

Couple things:

Had our frame walk. No real tips, other than I pointed out all kinds of problems to them and they told me they would address them. Our garden door actually opens the wrong way (would hit the dryer) and the official drawing shows the door opening the opposite way. They told me they would fix it.

Also heard there are alittle behind, but also heard they are ahead of schedule...so what to believe. I don't know...

Anyone installing hardwood in their house upon closing?

Security has been so so with myself. Some have issues with driving in, other no.

FYI, apparently Mattamy has satisfaction survey's that they ask to be filled out. Try not to finish them for at least until your 1 year after closing check. I hear once you've filled the survey out, customer service goes down the tubes. I've heard this, but haven't experienced this...

Security has been ok for us....because we are towards the end of the street we just walk to the house. They did kick me out last week because I had flip flops on but this was the first time and every other time they didn't even pay attention to us.

You doing the hardwood yourself or hiring someone?

Security mentioned to me about wearing flip flops and a hardhat too...

hey everyone,
Only 2.5 months to go until the big move! Time is flying by. Haven't been inside our house yet (tough to do with a newborn; was afraid I would fall through the floor or something like that) but I think we will try to drive by tonight and check how things are progressing. Before we know it, it will be time to pack up and move. Any recommendations on good moving companies?
We also sold our house at the beginning of July (same day that Michael was born and it was also the day we listed) so we have less stress from that standpoint thank goodness.
For the experienced handyman out there, is there anything that we should be doing to the house when it is going up to improve the quality (ie. screwing down the floors, extra insulation or wiring) or does Mattamy do a pretty good job with most things? We are not too experienced here so any advice is much appreciated.
