If you are going to regret saying that than ill probably regret agreeing with you....

I know that Canada is all multicultural and stuff but i do not like when people try to push their religion onto others. I find this kind of behaviour more dominant with certian religions than others and i think that it is a private issue and people should not impose or make me feel obligated to answer to them about it at my door or anywhere else.

This is along the same idea as people wanting to change the names of certain things (like christmas trees to holiday trees) to include everyone. Its like it was a christams tree before and it will remain a christams tree. And personally it seems that is really only one certain religion that keeps getting pushed to change certain things to suit others needs. I believe that we are all entitled to our own religion but have to realize that not all others believe in the same thing and that is OK. Thats just my opinion though.............

Is my head on a chopping block yet.......

This forum is becoming absolutely ridiculous with some of the topics people are posting. Relax, life is to short to worry about some things. Use the forum as it was meant to be used, for advice on purchasing a home in a great Community.

Then where do we go once we have bought and moved in? I tried leaving here but it is like crack!

I can see your point Coutney and Chris but this is the "general" section of the forum so technically this can be used to post "non house buying/maintaining" information.
This seems to be a great community (i cant wait to move in) but what makes this community great goes beyond the Mattamy (or any other builders) homes we purchased in my opinion it has alot to do with the goings on in and around the neighbourhood...this like it or not is one of them....this post is no different than those that have posted before about sales people ringing doorbells to make sales....people tend to react differently when it comes to religion because we are all aware that although we may be proud of our beliefs they are private and people who come to your door trying to "sell you" on something different is not necessary....thats all.............

When we first moved here we were under seige from door to door salespeople. I am in sales myself and understand these people have to make a buck...

I had a sign in my window that worked quite well and I just havent put it back up but it did work...

"If we havent called you for your product / service, please do not knock"

I did have one person who rang the doorbell and I politely pointed to the sign...he said "well I didnt knock!"

I ammended the sign after that

Common, all of these people talking about God at your door are another kind of the sales persons. Those modern religions are SCAM to get you in, make you brainless and take money from you.
