You were into the Melaleuca, right?
If you're already good at MLM, Amway is THE one to join, I've heard. If you weren't great at it, this will likely yield the same outcome.
I looked into all of these in my early 20s since the numbers intrigued me (being a math geek) but I quickly figured out I had no interest in 'selling' an idea to my friends and family, convincing them of the possible millionaire lifestyle in the process.
You need a certain personality to succeed, but if you are going to join any one, I'd say Amway is the one to join due to it's history and longevity.
Their products are products, decent quality, plain and simple, with enough margin built in to support the payment structure of the members.
It's almost like a religion - so don't buy your soap on sale at the Metro

Members will say they are the best products you can buy. Non-members will say they're just ok, regardless of the product's actual quality.
Definitely not for me - those that have met me know I take the honest, laid back approach to selling, not the "Give me 3 minutes and I'll change your life" approach. IT's all based on what selling style you're comfortable with and good at.
Last point - see Wyl's 2nd sentence... "They ROPED me in"... I'd feel horrible doing that to a family member. A very good friend's dad did this to everyone, and he essentially isolated himself and has no family left over. Sure, his MLM was for calling cards and the pyramid crashed, but it had the same effect.
Anyone you 'rope' in will result in a payment to you. If they fail, will you give all of their money back? Will you feel bad about that? Will it negatively affect a relationship with a family or friend? If profit is more important that family, you'll do very well. If personal relationships are more important than profit, you'll have a tough time selling, regardless or whether it's Melaleuca or Amway, but we'll all like you better (hehe kidding)
