A&A - you should be getting a call any time. Your house seems to be less than a week behind ours most of the time.

We had our framewalk today. Took loads of pictures. Nothing too major was found. Everything seemed to be where it was supposed to be. I'm looking forward to seeing the drywall go up!

Anyone with a TV above the fireplace, what did you do about the wires. We know the conduit runs down to the basement, so did you just get extra long cords and wires and run them all the way to the basement and back up the other conduit to the media niche? I know for HDMI cables, that would be some serious $$ for cords that long. We are thinking of cutting through the conduit before it's been drywalled and running something through that way......Any other ideas?

On another note, if anyone is needing a gas fitter, plumber or AC guy, we have a friend, Chris. He's done all of our work at our current house and has been fantastic and great prices. he does gas fitting (BBQ, dryer, stove, etc.), plumbing (fridge water line, basement plumbing, etc.) and also AC units - getting the unit and installation. His # is: 519-939-0747
If you talk to him, tell him Oliver and Amy referred you.

It's getting close now!
Anyone know someone looking to buy a great house in old Milton??

We have our conduit running attic to basement. We have another conduit running from about the fireplace to the basement then back up to an area we will have all our media equipment. Your area, if you got the upgrade about the fire place, should have a cable, conduit and electrical plug. The only thing that should run through the conduit is cable, av cable or HDMI cable. On HDMI cable...by the cheapest one you can fine...they are all the same. I use to get a deal on Rocketfish cable from Bestbuy. Any idea what there cost is??? $12-15. I got some from a guy up in Caledon. I think I paid $10-$15? Worked good and decent quality. I would say even better than the Rocketfish stuff. If I find his number, I will post it. Do not purchase any HDMI cable for more that $20-30. They did a test on different ones and they all tested the same. It was on CBC I think last year...

We have the exact same set up. I didn't realize that you could get HDMI cable that cheaply. Oliver is the entertainment king in our house. He gets some monster cables, blah blah, and is not wanting to pay $200 for super long cables. What about cables to the surround sound, cable box? PS3? you just get long ones that go into the basement and back up?
