Which is more accurate (see desciption below)?
It would be great hockey to watch, and either team could win on any given night! 48%  48%  [ 10 ]
Team Canada 2010 would win every single time, with ease! 33%  33%  [ 7 ]
My NHL All Star team of choice would win every single time, with ease! 19%  19%  [ 4 ]

'Could Team Canada beat them' -- that wasn't the debate at all. Read page 1 again.

The debate was that I couldn't find any team, real or made up, that had a chance against Team Canada.

I'm more realistic about team canada - yes they were good, but they're not unbeatable against 30yrs of hockey history.
As if they could go 82-0 is a make believe season against the All star teams put together over the years?

sure, PM me your email address.

Hey, option 2 got a 2nd vote... Hi Prickly Pete! now that my position is known, that sways the vote. Before that last vote, it was 6-1-1.

My original stance on page 1 was that they could not go undefeated, as that is unrealistic.

Cool, so you agree.
They can be beaten. of course they can be beaten.

I think this debate is so foolish, but Guy 1 wanted to come to the villager for a vote. He was insistent that there wasn't any team that could beat Team Canada 2010.

The debate is a little odd, considering most of Team Canada makes up most of the all-star teams. I think we're forgetting the NHL is still probably 60% Canadian.

The argument is silly.. if you want to make a fantasy team, you could have Canadian Olympic Hockey 2010 team vs, a make believe team comprised of the Olympic Hockey team.

If you were to say Mens Canadian Olympic hockey vs All Stars with no Canadians allowed I would say the Olympic team would win hands down.

Keep in mind, in the Olympics we were 6-1 meaning we did lose so handily is just silly. All you need is a goalie to have a flake night and it can go either way (as long as both sides are fairly matched).

We also beat the US in overtime. I'm hella glad we won, but way too close. 2010 Olympic hockey might have been the best hockey i've ever seen however. You can take that to a poll!

That was much of the transcription, but not the debate - that included more than the debate. And you missed a very important quote, which triggered the debate.

The whole purpose of this debate was to prove that any all star team vs the canadians would be a good game, and either team could win on any given night. I think it's pretty clear.

The canadian men, although very good, can be beaten by any NHL all star team on any given night.

Re this (which i'm deducing is freddy)

Guy 2
First of all, no NHL team should ever be compared to an Olympic Gold
Medal team, so to be fair in comparison, my answer will be EVERY ALL START TEAM IN THE PAST 30 YEARS. THEY WOULD DESTROY 2010 Team Canada.

No sir, not every all star team in past 30 years would destroy team canada. You are off base sir!

on any night, sure they could.. every game needs to be played out. it could go either way.

That part wasn't actually in the debate. It was finding proof that any team could beat team canada, and by naming 30 yrs of all star teams, I found 60 teams that could beat Team Canada. The destroy part was just for effect, and not in the debate

LOL I'm loving this :)

Devious, Martin, and all, the exact email history went like this (see print screen taken below):
(Destroy had nothing to do with the debate.)

Guy 1 Replied:
Ok, care to take that statement to a vote on the Hawthorne Villager?

Seeing as the US team DID beat them in the prelims, how can your friend possibly claim they are unbeatable? Am I missing something? Seems pretty clear they are beatable .... since it already happened. :?
