Hi neighbour! My boyfriend and I bought a house on Chuchmach too! We're in lot 377-03. It's such a long wait for those towns - I hope they stay on schedule. I'm already excited to get in there. :)

Hopefully more neighbours will wander by here! The day we bought, there were just a few lonely townhouses avail on Chuchmach, but we also got to meet a few neighbours at the sales office after hours of lining up. Next time I'm in the area I might pop in the office and see if anything's been added to the street now. :)

Hello Neighbours... :D

My boyfriend and I bought the 378-4 lot a few weeks.

What do you guys think of the street name?

Hello Fellow Chuchmachers!

Good to see a few of us have found our way onto the blog. My wife and I will be moving onto Chuchmach in November 2011 (tentative closing date).

We bought a few weeks back. We were only one of two lots that had been sold in our townhouse row but my wife was at the Mattamy Office over the weekend and I am excited to say there have been more lots sold and thus we now have multiple neighbours.

My wife and I can't wait to move in and look forward to meeting all of our great neighbours in the mean time at the Design Centre, Mattamy U and then of course in tha hood!

The count down continues! November 2011 can't get here soon enough.

Vince

BTW does anyone have any information regarding whats going to be part of the High Density Office / Commercial / Residential Area thats going in at Louis St. Laurent & Bronte Street S?

Our backyard will be backing onto it and we're really hoping for a Timmy's although I know there is one at Derry & Bronte Street S. Wishful thinking.

We had the same experience as you, Vince. It was just us and our next door neighbour. Glad to hear the street it starting to fill out, and we're looking forward to meeting everyone over the next year!

It would be awesome if that was a Tim's! I asked a friend that works for the city of Milton a little while ago, and there's apparently still no word on what that spot will actually be. Fingers and toes are crossed for now! For any coffee shop, really. haha. And a Shoppers would be handy too.

As for the name.. it's a little different. ;) I was kind of hoping that "Churchmach Crescent" as the Mattamy office has it on the board was correct, but no.. it's "Chuchmach Close". Apparently the Chuchmach's were a prominent Milton family. It's pronounced "chew-ch-mac"(which I also learned from my friend). :)

Thanks for the info JBL! I'll keep my fingers crossed too.

I was able to find the approvals and plans for the High Density Area across the street on Bronte St S. Not much info was given as far as what retail locations might be set up there. I'm not surprised though, I really couldn't see the powers that be knowing what stores would be going in there right off the bad.

I couldn't find anything about our (our, already taking ownership in my mind) side of Bronte St S. If I hear anything I will most definitely let everyone here know, please do the same if you hear any thing first.

Talk to you all soon!

And its pronounced "Chew"chmach?!?!?!

This is not good, chooch (pronounced the same) is a derogatory term in Italian. It means idiot or dummy, etc. So great, we live on Dummymach Close. LOL!

Hey KBZ

Funny you ask about the stainless steel appliances. My wife and I were just wondering about that too. We also noticed the price on this upgrade is not listed in the booklet (among other items...).

We are interested in this particular upgrade too. Should you hear anything please add it to the thread and we will be sure to do so as well.

Ciao!

Vince

We were wondering the same thing! I had heard that if you wanted to upgrade your appliances you had to take the $1500 credit from Mattamy and upgrade them on your own. However.. when I purchased, the sales agent said that Mattamy now offers the option to upgrade to stainless through them directly, and she said that she "thought" it was around 500-700 bucks. I've been into the design centre a couple times, but kept forgetting to ask. I'll definitely check next time I'm there. I was suprised it wasn't in the booklet.

Just found this thread.. it has some good info. http://www.hawthornevillager.com/phpbb/ ... 3&start=60 On the last page, someone said the upgrade to stainless was $630 (back in 2009). :)
