Watched the first half of the Raptors-Knicks game. The Raps I thought showed some promise- especially Bargnani. I found myself asking where that Bargnani was last year, or the year before.

They played some great defense- Reggie Evans and his rebounding were a huge plus. I'm fairly optimistic. Their 3-point shooting however sucked, and so did their free-throw shooting. They'll have to improve on both to really start something going.

I think we're still in better shape without Chris Bosh, than Cleveland is without LeBron.

I actually thought the complete opposite.
They actually showed me that my low expectations were actually still too high, and I've adjusted them accordingly.

Also, Cleveland just beat Boston, while we lost to the lowly knicks.
I thought we'd get 35 wins this year, but after being there last night, seeing a half empty stadium on opening night and a lacklustre effort against a bad team, I'm now guessing it'll be around 25. I hate to say it - I guess we'll see. I hope I'm wrong!
The attendance showed "18,722", but there were THOUSANDS of empty seats, many in chunks of hundreds side by side. My guess is about 13-14,000 showed. :(

I thought we looked real bad yesterday. Our transition D was terrible and we let Felton do whatever he wanted. The entire game had a streetball feel to it, sort of helter skelter with no real structure.

I had our over/under pegged at 20 wins, so anything above that I'll be happy. After the game I switched it to The Score for some Court Surfing, and watched the Nets knock off Detroit. I immediately had this sinking feeling that we might be last years Nets :(

Laura and Fred, you both are extremists! :)
The knicks are not as bad of a team as said. And while the knicks are a rebuilding team, the Raps fall in the same category. They had their moments. They were awesome at times and so miserable at others.
That in mind, not a so bad team. Don't excite me like Laura but don't depress me like Fred.

Fred, The Cavs were fresh playing a tired Boston that played back to back games.

Miami, let's not even go there! they sucked and watch them suck even more. (did you hear the rumors of Bosh naked pics? - Miami keeping him horny   )

Mr Big- I hope you mean me as extremely optimistic, because I will admit to that.

I think it's really too early to tell if the Raptors are going to disappoint or not this season. They won by 30 tonight against the Cavs- 101-81. I think the true measure is going to be against the better teams.

Yesterday's game was not so bad. Won by 20, right Laura? (need to revisit your math  )

What may assist the Raptors break through are:
*Reggie's toughness and awesome rebounding.
*Demar's developping skills. I like how he now drives to the basket with style but needs more toughness finishing the basket.
*Sonny Weems all-in-all. I have hope this guy may turn into an Allstar.
*Linas and Barbosa shooting skills. (I'd like to see a more consistant shooter out of Kleiza though)

Again, like I said, I am not as pessimistic as Fred. We have some good young gunz. with a little more work on their finishing touches, a playoff team can see the light.
