I had to go to that HD once because I was short on angle iron for a job.. ya.. THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY! I asked for a 6' piece and the kid said said "We're a smaller Home Depot and don't carry as much as the bigger stores."

They sure do have a lot of appliances though.. right up there in front.

Go back to the US and give me a nice big Rona.

You should eb able to get him live, in person, showing up at your email destination for prbably less than the cheapest Mattamy upgrade.

I love the hammer drop! I have it as my default home page so I don't miss anything. Have purchased anything yet but I know that perfect item will show up one of these days!

I was happy that is was opening here but not I can't count the times I have gone there and they did not stock what I was looking for very stupid if you ask me. If RONA was smart they would build a large store in Milton to make the people happy.

my experience this month at Home Depot while completing another of my projects was the most frustrating. I went to the Milton store to buy 2 of the "country screen doors" that everyone has. They don't stock them, and have to order them in.

This wasn't the first time I had had this happen at this store, so I spoke with one of the managers. The stores are "ranked" in size as to what they typically stock and don't stock, etc. etc. Apparently it is based on size of the store and population in the area.....Man did they screw up. Pardon the language.

They are rated a 1/2 store compared to the one on Argentia. In any event, I drove down there to buy the doors....then they told me they wouldn't trim them for me. Store policy. So I go across the street to Rona....and they cut them....FOR FREE....the guy gave me a deal. Imagine that!!

But what the real kicker was that the SAME door was $90 less at Rona....yes I said NINETY DOLLARS but HD wouldn't honour a price match as it was technically a different company...same door, same material, same manufacturer, but like a potatO/patahto situation.......

Let's just say when I did my walkway last weekend, and purchased my gardening tools, materials, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. I went directly to Rona. At least they value my business, want to service me properly as a client, and won't rip me off.

Thank you sooo much for letting me vent. (sip the wine, Jess...sip the wine!!!!)

Jessica :)

hahahahaha

Oh...God!!! Well, it's not quite finished yet, I still need to hammer in the supporting edges and cut 1 more brick, and put in the polymetric sand....but I do have to say, that you get that sense of achievement, and are so proud of yourself when you do it yourself.

I am not a handy person, but I've got to say, that I've really come to enjoy all the little projects I've been doing around the house.

If there ever is a problem with the housing market, and no one ever needs a mortgage again, perhaps I'll become a landscaper....or a tiler..I like that too.....

Jessica :)

PS: Picture....no..but you can drive past in your travels...I'm on Kearns...you can tell it has just been done, I'm not finished the landscaping around it yet.....too bad that I actually have to work during the week... :)

The south end of Milton will EVENTUALLY be developed right to Britania all along the east-west corridor...but it will take time. In fact I believe it will be the last survey area to be built up, with the next run taking place in the west end of the Town at the foot of the escarpment.

I have copies of planning projections and surveys...out to about 2019 I believe...and if I remember correctly I saw a population projection in my reading of about 120 000 by that year - at which point things will drastically level off in the Town proper.

Though I'm the first to admit I can't claim to know any of this for absolute certain. It's simply information I've gathered from some meetings I've had with people who know better than I do as well as some documents I was given when we first bought in Miltion in 2001.

ouch, milton finally becoming a city and leaving the farm town image behind!!! *gasps*
