Just wondering for those of you who have street names ... did your street have a name when you bought?? If not how long after buying did your street "x" get named? I know it sounds silly but our street does not have a name yet (that I know of, we are in phase 15a) and I am so excited/interested to find out what it will be!!

Where the streets have no name..........

I wonder how do the streets get thier names

Check the sales office...on that map on the big table. We were in one day an noticed that our street had a name! When we did our brick selection we had the number of our house.

I was lucky that we had a name when we bought (Phase 14B). When I went to my first structural appointment (earlier this week) I even got my house #! I would just keep checking back with the sales centre on Derry/Trudeau to see if the street names have been updated.

seeing many offers in many phases, I can tell you that sometimes there is a name, sometimes not. Sometimes there is even a street number when purchasing, but most times not.

It all depends on when their selections are approved by the city, I believe....

Hi,

We bought our house in phase 14A in early July 2005, and we new our street name by end of September/early October. So about a 3 month wait for us.

Good luck and congrats on your purchase!

I know that in our area of Hawthorne, North and South, Phases 1 and 2...maybe 3?? The streets are mainly named after war veterans...that is why we have the poppies on some of the street signs...the signs that don't have the poppies aren't named after anyone. I'm not sure if there is a theme with other areas of Hawthorne.

You will find that Canada post doesn't have it on the website until they assign a postal code....which for us wasn't til about 2months before closing.....

Jessica :)

Are the streets named after famous people in the area, like other places and subdivisions?

How long does it take to show up on Canada post website?
