I'm sitting in the back up right now.... Should have stayed on the 407 and exited Derry.
f*** Edge and their absent traffic reports.

Which way now..?

The Edge didn't have anything about that morning accident until like a half hour later.
And it's true, anything west of the city gets the shaft on traffic reports. I have to listen to the Guelph station to hear anything.

I see from my office that 401 is backed up at Winston Churchill still. Anybody know if Derry is clear?

I was on the 401 at 427 and the big screen above the highway warned that the highway was closed in both directions at Highway 25.. I detoured and took the 403 ... Glad I did... that is some serious footage!

Wow! That Volkswagen Jetta or Passat seemed to have anticipated the truck coming and swerved away in time, though I bet the VW got damaged from the flying concrete of the divider. The orange tractor trailer just missed getting nailed and taking out the white cargo van.

A true miracle no one died. Stuff like this can happen at any time. Wow.

401 seems to be moving good at Winston Churchill so the accident at James Snow must be cleared up.

Ooh-ohh! I've got this one! Here's the email I got back. (The bolding is mine because of the eventual 401 widening and possible tremmaine overpass)

Thank you for your email regarding the expansion of our COMPASS Cameras westerly on Highway 401. I apologize for the delay in responding to you.

At this time, there are no cameras on Highway 401 West of Highways 410/403. As you can imagine, we have many needs for expansion of our COMPASS Systems. Deciding where to expand is based on a benefit/cost ranking of prospective expansion sites based on the ability of COMPASS to improve the safety and efficiency of the highway. Typically, sections with the highest traffic volumes and most problems are on the top of the list. However, we also have to coordinate with highway construction programs so we do not install equipment that then gets removed shortly after by construction.

Westerly expansion of cameras on Highway 401 is high on our priority list and will be completed as funding and construction opportunities allow. We are also looking at ways to expedite expansion with two to three wireless cameras in the outlying area to supplement our system. The implementation is scheduled for next summer.

Thanks again for bringing your concerns to our attention and for your interest in our transportation network. Please feel free to contact us in the future with additional inquiries or concerns.

Regards,

Suzanne Lessard

There is a camera on the 401 and (close to) 407, and it is broken/dark for the last some years..At least ..go and fix this one

Thanks for checking, Milton traffic is not priority yet...
