Seems like Primus is cheaper than Vonage and offers an extra feature Vonage does not, the ability to block certain calls.

I did a quick check at Primus and found that their international rates are higher than Vonage. Also Vonage offers free calls to UK, Irland, Spain France and Italy.

Having a 416/647 area code is better than a 905 one, as the 416/647 calls are local for a wider range.

With Primus you have to pay for an unlisted number (telemarketers scan the white pages regularely) while Vonage doews not even offer an option to list your number, even for a fee. Depends on what you want.

I guess there's no clear cut winner, it all depends on what services you need most and what your calling patterns are.

you can try my Primus services. PM to arrange if you like. I am pleased. with it so far and as I only call Canada and the US the rate is exceptional. I chose a 416 number.

Thanks

have you considered Cogeco? I just set up my phone with them (I bundled my phone/cable/internet) and for $29.99 I get unlimited calls across Canada and the continental USA....any time..... My internet (I went with Lite) for $24.95 and my Cable (basic 50 channels) for $10.00. I thought this was an incredible deal!

I have pretty much decided to go with Cogeco when we move. My cable package will be more than the basic though! I will be curious to hear how the phone service is over the next few months.

Right now I have cogeco internet at work which we are happy with. It has only been down once or twice for short periods and their tech. dept. is very helpful.
