Sounds like you're more prepared than we were! lol!

Naps aren't going too well.. I think it's just the whole "new place" thing, no noise really as with the A/C in and the window's closed, you can't really hear much ... she's finding it hard to settle, but it's getting better.

Finally have internet in the new home!

Move in went well. A/C install on friday, moved in on saturday. Well not completely, Im going to rent a 14' truck next weekend and bring the rest of the stuff. We're really enjoying our home. Its so perfect for us. Cant wait to meet all you guys.

Met Scott and Sarah, great neighbours like Vic and Cristy.

Backyards are getting filled in today, supposedly we'll have grass by the end of july!!!!

Can I change my sod install guess date? lol

Its just the teacher in me... I have to have things organized :D My daughter's nap schedule is all messed up sinced we moved out of our previous home (currently living between parents and in-laws until move-in) So I'm hoping to have her back on a routine when we move in. We have our PDI this week... anything specific we should look for that you guys have noticed in your homes?

Our PDI went pretty good.. only superficial stuff. The only thing I don't like is that it seems that they just went around after and just removed the tape (or "flags") and didn't complete the jobs.

Guess we'll have to put it back on the 30 day

They better not remove any tags I put up because I will be pretty pissed!! :D

We will be on the site this Sunday afternoon to check out our house...we have already noticed some things that need fixing! Can anyone recommend a good company for central vac? We found one from Home Show that is based in Milton, but I just wanna see if there are any other good recommendations. We are off the week we get our house and have the phone company coming in on the Thursday and the alarm company coming in on the Friday so it would be nice to have the central VAC install happening as well. It's going to be a busy, busy week!

The week of Aug 3, if anyone wants to come for a beer, come on over to Lot 195! :D It would be great to finally meet all you guys!!

I personally like Beam Central Vac's. I have used Beam for many years and I bought my last unit and my new unit from Milton Vaccum on Derry and 25

Glad to see some of you settling down. I drove by the other day and saw some of you lounging on your front porch :)

How was Craig's A/C install and how is the A/C performing? I'm assuming we all got the same system. 13 SEER High Efficiency 2.5 Deluxe (Grey) model? Is it cooling the 2nd floor? We have Craig come in late August to install ours as we don't move in until August 18th.

How's the security guy? We walked around our home the other day and he was in our face pretty much the entire time. Didn't even say a word! The house was locked up, so it's not like we can get in.

Enjoy your new homes.

Congratulations to everyone who got the keys already! Exactly 2 more months for us!

I am looking for hardwood installer with reasonable price. Any references?
Thank you!

I was going to do hardwood floors as well, but I've been told by experts not to install the floors in your 1st year as the house will move and corrections will be hard to fix. We decided to live with the carpet for the 1st year and do it next summer.

We've had the same thinking as you Art. We're going to wait until the 2 year mark though, do the hardwood, then right after, do the basement...using the carpet from the living room.

That's not a bad idea to wait until the 2nd year. Our contract stipulates that we're not allowed to finish our basement for 2 years anyway. We are going to replace the bathtub tiles and shower with marble though. It should be a nice touch.

The good thing is that we get to save $ for now :)

OMG, I would love to see how that turns out! You're doing the kitchen floors too, right? We'll be re-doing the ensuite bathroom at a later point too, and I love how your current homes looks.

My head is spinning, just thinking of all the 'home' projects we have coming up in the next few years. Believe or not, the kitchen project is the one I'm least looking forward to doing!
