Hello,
I would like to invite anyone who is interested in Speed Skating to come out to our registration night. Registration is open to all ages and abilities. We have a Learn to Skate group, Beginner (group 1), Intermediate (group 2) and an Advanced (group 3).
If you know someone who is no longer interested in a sport that they are in ask if they would like to try speed skating. We have successful hockey/speed skating cross over individuals who have done well in meets in their first year of speed skating.
Dependent on the ability level of the registrant, there are up to 4 hours of ice time per week to apply for, not to mention the ability, Ontario cup and mini meets throughout the speed skating year that are available to compete in.
The only equipment needed is: Helmet, Neck guard, Knee pads, Shin guards, Safety glasses and Leather gloves. The Milton Speed Skating Club can provide speed skates for the season at a nominal cost and will be provided free of charge for Learn to Skate skaters.
Our season runs from September 7th 2011 to March 31st 2012. The competition/meets calendar can be found in the Milton Speed Skating Website
http://www.miltonspeedskating.com/index ... n-Calendar There are many Western Region (WR) meets shown in
Green and Ontario cup meets (O'Cup) shown in
Blue and it is to my understanding that there will be smaller mini meets available throughout the year.

The Milton Speed Skating Club was formed in 2004 by a dedicated group of individuals who wanted to see children participate in and eventually become competitive in the sport of speed skating. Our club caters to Youth, 5-18 years of age, but will accept older members and has a family rate plan if parents want to skate with their children. We offer speed skating for people located in Milton, Acton, Burlington, Georgetown, Oakville, Mississauga, and Halton Hills.
Last year our roster included skaters from Milton, Acton, Burlington, Georgetown, Mississauga and the occasional Hamilton.
This Wednesday July 27th is the registration night for the upcoming 2011/2012 season. The time is 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Milton Sports Centre.
