What activities do you have your kids in?

I am that type of parents who want to give everything available to his kids. My wife thinks I am a nutso, pushy and over exerting them.

I got mine in swimming (necessity-survival tool), Taekwondo (necessity-survival tool), skating (necessity as a Canadian  ), soccer, dance and piano (not to be just observers in parties yet take part of the ongoing)

How about you? Anyone else going extreme or is this more so normal than extreme? Something inside me calls for BasketBall and BaseBall too.

Love to hear from you.

Any success stories out there?

I would think this is normal, and I dont think you are being pushy.

Our son is 20 months and we have him signed up for swimming (stopped temporarily due to ear infection), iceskating, gymnastics, pony riding (for fun, not full blown lessons), in December he starts parent and tot ski lessons, and in January when he is two he starts at dash sports. Piano and karate we are leaving for another year, give or take.

I think your family and child dictate what is okay and what is too much.
I don't think there is one answer for everyone. Not that we have kids yet...

I already talked to my hubby and as much as he loves hockey I refuse to commit to 5+ days a week, constant tournaments like we see other family members doing. They have no life but their children's hockey- okay for them but not for me. Even my husband who is an avid hockey fan has come around over the last year or so as we can't even visit his family who lives 5 hours away when we do go up we just sit there while they run the kids around or we don't see them at all. We're so over it. Besides I want to have a life outside of that- be able to visit with family and have time hopefully with just my hubby. I want our children involved in things but I want to enjoy family time and it's really important to try to maintain a relationship with my hubby when kids come along-- the largest divorce rate is now when children move out of the house and parents find they have nothing other than the kids in common or stay together until the kids are out.

Remember it's what works for your family and if you want to spend the time and money and it works for your family- go nuts!
