Hi MiltonShiv,

Thanks for your comment. I do see that from the link you posted the question at issue was answered before I received an answer from staff. That is why I did not post the answer again. I will work as fast as I can with staff however in answering questions and concerns from this or any other forum.

Thanks,
Tony Lambert

Maybe it would help if you followed up after whatever timeline you initially offer, whether the question has been answered or not, to provide a status update to your constituents. Even if you haven't heard back, you can say : "Sorry, I have not heard back on this topic yet from XX dept."

This way you will appear more responsive. Just a suggestion.

Hi Sandeep,

Thanks. Sometimes on this forum and elsewhere, answers to questions are being worked on by more than one councillor at the same time. If a follow up is needed for a question already answered - I will certainly do that, and/or acknowledge the answer has been answered.

Best,

Another illegal box on Main E & Thompson (NW corner)

Has the city contacted this company yet?

Hi Everybody,

At last count there were 6 of these boxes that have popped up around town. The town is aware and removing them as we see them on town property. This should discourage more in the future.

There is also one on the No Frills property, and this one is also not authorized. Might as well take that one too.

If our crew is going out to take away these illegal bins I do hope there are fines going to the owners. Thats the best way to deter them coming back up...hit em in the pocket book.

I agree that the individuals who placed these boxes should be fined for placing them illegally but how easy is it to track them down? Or will we spend more money to try to track them to fine them?

And are the boxes actually being removed as Tony Lambert says? Someone mentioned the box at Scott and Finney and as of this morning when I left for work it was still there.

Hi Linda,

The town has the authority to remove boxes that are on town property or allowances without permission immediately. Boxes on private property have to be removed by the owner of that land. In the case of the one on Trudeau I went and saw the town had removed it. As I said the ones on private property may take longer before being removed.

No one said it was a waste of resources. I simply questioned whether it was a priority for Town resources.

My next door neighbour showed me signs of someone attempting to break into his car. This has me sleeping less at night and looking into additional security measures. Blue clothing bins on public property? Not as important to me as protecting my family. But to each his own.

By the way why aren't post election signs considered littering and isn't it us the taxpayers who end up with the bill for cleaning up those?

I definetly saw signs up after the election. I'd love to see who if anyone got fined.
