The discount isn't very much and the mark down seems to be specific to items rather than say 20% off on everything. I asked about a few couches and front loader washers and dryers for which the discount turned out to be about $100 or so.

For example:
LG front loader washer and dryer PP5FLLPK1 $1,298.97 = $1180.00+tax
Samsung front loader washer and dryer PP5FLLPK1 $2,099.94 = $1800.00+tax
Fridgedaire front loader washer and dryer PP5FLLPK1 $1,699.94 = $1550.00+tx

I think if you are buying several items you're better off negotiating a packaged discount.

I was going to upgrade my fridge to a bigger fridge but since Mattamy won't install appliances if you upgrade just one item, I'm going to skip it and just live with a small fridge in a bigger space.

Just wanted to ask has anyone heard that the brick does not do the appliance upgrades anymore? From what The Brick told me, Mattamy goes through Appliance Canada??

Has anyone heard of this before??

Thanks

It's true. Mattamy deals with Appliance Canada now. Our credit voucher was given to us back in July or August.

I emailed the mattamy customer care rep and they were nice enough to say that since I purchased mine through the brick already, that they would honor it.

I did ask, how come the home owners weren't notified with the change. She resonded by saying, that they sent the notifications this week. Which I found kinda odd. :?: I had to find out from the Brick that Mattamy (milton) no longer works with the Brick.

I'm just glad that I dont have to go through another person to deal with the appliance upgrade. I would suggest to contact your mattamy customer care rep.

Hey Scotian, I think you're right about how it works. You have the option to go with the standard appliances and have them installed or you can opt to upgrade your appliances and they will credit you the value of those three appliances. They never gave us a specific dollar amount when we called appliance canada. We actually bought our appliances elsewhere and are probably going to use the credit towards a tv.

Hmm... I just received an email from Mattamy.

It stated that if you do not want the standard appliances, then you can cancel the standards and Mattamy will give $1500 towards upgrades at the design center instead (or upgrade to SS for $630, which, at that price is probably still low end appliances. Certainly not a 25 cu ft fridge).

I'm guessing if you want to have that $1500 as a credit towards your appliances, that you have to request the standards and then do the rest behind the scenes with Appliance Canada.

Hey Scotian....$1500.00 credit is actually better than what I got with the Brick. My credit came up to be $1300.00 something.

Hello,

Just wondering if you take the $1500 credit in lieu of appliances do you still get the a/c unit?

Yes, you still get the a/c unit installed if you take the credit. That's what we ended up doing.. And bought our own appliances (since the included ones, even with the stainless upgrade and additional smooth-top stove upgrade, were pretty basic).
