Hi Jdub

There is no public meeting. Staff work with the area residents and the applicant and sometimes meet in the planning department offices or other locations to work out details of the plan. Check with Chris for the process.

Happy December folks.

One month to go for some of us and I'm wondering if anybody is excited about finally getting into their new homes anymore.

LOL - hubby is excited, I'm all business. The excitement will be there once I get the keys. I think because this is the 'almost forever' house, I have a more vested interest in the minute details, etc. So, I'm more zoned into the process not the end result at the moment...

But, I'll be more than happy to join you at your winter welcome bbq
I'll bring the iced cider!

Just finalizing the details on selling our current place.... so, yes, very excited!

Anyone do PDI or finalize closing dates yet? I think they said there would be a walk through 1month before closings.

I think it more prudent that you NOT post blogger personal information (i.e. email addresses)in the forum for privacy reasons. Thanks

Hi Kayak and Doil7777

Thanks for the posts. The area to the east of Savoline is being built by a combination of Fieldgate, Arista and Heathwood Homes where you can see the plans at their sales offices. The area is off of Wettlaufer and Huddlestone was approved over a year ago and can be seen at www.milton.ca under maps and applications.

Did anybody has any information on appriciation? How much are homes going near this location?

What I know the Prices we paid were high at that time. Call it we bought Quality home or location surounded with large homes. Walk to Escarpment. There is appriciation but not a lot. Every house is different in comperission.

If any one is interested to know details I can send you complete stats of the area. i.e recent solds. Please PM me with your email address.

With talk of pdi s I am wondering if anyone has an idea about how much closing costs will be? I'm not talking about movers and stuff but what you have to pay at the lawyers office ect.

Main expense At closing will be land transfer tax
You can google there are tons of calculators on line

http://www.ratehub.ca/land-transfer-tax

It depends on house price

For my house 660,000 it is 9675
Lawyer fee. 1000 and up
Terion warranty approx 700
Title insurance recommended 350
Registration 300
Any upgrades you did 50% of that
There are other charges in our contract
I think total 2k i.e hook up frees Trees etc.
Sorry Sunday morning could not get up from the bed
So not so precise amounts
Can send you mor details if asked

So our good friend Doil did share a interesting little nugget of information - atleast for me - and perhaps the folks who have houses on Savoline's east side...lots 1 - 13 or so..

THe lots immediatley behind us look like they are not going to have houses on them. the way the property demarcation line is the plots imemdiatly behind us got disected diagonally leaving really nothing to build on..so the section of lots whose backyards would join our backyards, will have nothing built on them...not bad if this the way it stays and nothing changes! email me or doil if you want a cc of the drawing -

Spoke with a guy called Brandon - some one on this forum recomended him - talking to him sounds like the guy knows what he is talking about

Brandon - 416 892 6402

Fridge water line hook up - 50
Slide in range gas - 130
cook top - 130
wall oven 120
builtin microwaev with trim kit - 80
diswasher 110

all additional parts required included...if anyone finds anything better let us know...i know I hired a guy few months back to do my dishwasher he did it for 75 but wasnt a great job - so i dont mind paying the extra to someone who knows what they are doing.

there is room for negotiation with this guy - i got him to knock of 50 off my final price.
