Pre-construction meetings ... how long was your meeting? and did anyone have any luck requesting/ making changes at your meeting?

Dan called me this week to book the meeting and I'll be meeting with him on Tuesday ... I was hoping I could get him to delete/ change the linen closet that's right at the top of my stairs ... There's already a larger linen closet closer to the main bath, so why do I need another small one at the top of my stairs??? Some of the previous Wood Lily/ Plan 12 models have an art niche there instead ... I'd rather the art niche or nothing there at all! ... that way when I'm downstairs and walking past my stairscase and look up I'll see ANYTHING but a closet ... yuk

The Pre-construction meeting is about 15-20 min. All they do is run down your upgrades. Have some changes that you would like and mention it to them. They will try to accommodate the changes but i recommend you actually going on site during construction and re-mentioning those changes. If its an interior change, then mention it when they start the interior, not when the lay the foundation. The closer to the change the better.

Mention it at the meeting but also at the frame walk

Had our pre-con meeting yesterday. Michael (builder) told me there should not be any delay for our house (closing May 31th). They would start digging our foundation this week if the weather is good. So, I think it should be the same for other fire break houses. Good luck!

Sounds promising. Won't put it in the books till I get my letter though.

BTW - we're closing the same day.

Had my preconstruction meeting today too and the construction team is AWSOME! ... and funny too ... My excavation should begin next weekend!!! ... They also said they don't anticipate any delays ... Which I hope is the case! June's too far away to already be calling for a delay of 2 or more weeks ...It would make more sense If I got notification in April that my June 21 closing will be delayed.

Just a FYI for those firebreak homes: They started digging on the south side of pringle....the east side . Also, very scary that they firebreak houses are not getting delayed. That means that a a whole bunch of us will be closing in and around the same time. We gotta keep on top of them with proper finishes!

Thanks for the update Greg!

Earlier someone posted that there was going to be delays because of weather (or something like that) ... well ... we really haven't had much of a winter! (... yeah! lol ...) so I'm not alarmed that the firebreaks are going to start on schedule and possibly close on schedule ... they have 90 days before our anticipated closing date to notify us of any delay, so for me they have until March 21 ... anything could happen between now and then that might delay them

On the plus side, the firebreaks only account for aprox 20 out of the 82 lots ... that should be a good thing cus they're working on less houses at the same time that close between May and June :)

I'm so excited!!!!!

Anyone have any kids that will be going to high school September 2012? There's only one catholic high school and one public high school and I'm curious to know what you guys chose and why (I don't really know much about Milton or it's schools)? ... 1 thing I do know is that the kids get bused to either school

We just got our phone call today for our framewalk. Its scheduled for Monday January 30th.

I was told that Andrew, who we met with for our pre-construction appointment, has been moved to work on a different location and is now working on the homes in behind the hospital. Wasn't sure if anyone else was dealing with Mike and Andrew. Just wanted to keep everyone in the loop.
