Dear Mattamy homes owners,
I'm looking for kitchen cabinets makers to add extra storage in our kitchen area.
We contacted original manufacturer - high price and no assembly-delivery.
Anyone with good experience from local companies?
Thank you.
KF.

Home grown people and been around a long time. When my wife and I had a store in Milton we had Charlene design and Phil custom build all our displays and cash counter. With them you get the personal touch. 17 Wilson at Main st across from the Ford dealer.

Concept Cabinets. They're on Main Street across from Superstore. 905-878-9177.

Great craftsmanship, they custom build on site so can build pretty much anything which allows for odd sizes and depths so you can maximize every inch of storage, and they custom stain so you can get any color or shade you want. Cabs are real wood (not veneers) and all the drawers and doors use high-quality soft close hardware. Quality is outstanding, they delivered on time and install went flawlessly. Pricing was great for the quality & value received. We've used them for 3 projects now and would use them again without hesitation.

Here's a few pics of the kitchen they did for use recently. (don't worry about the styling, we happen to be traditional but they can do whatever you like from traditional to modern.) Everything is custom-sized to maximize storage for the space, for example the pantries are 29" deep, breakfast bar lowers are 25.5" deep and uppers are 16" and 22" deep, range wall lowers 26.5" deep and range wall uppers 13" deep. Point being you can spec pretty much anything you want for your particular space and they can build it.

Here are some of the storage things they can include ...

Trash/recycle pullout sized to go under a sink:

Steel-lined dog food drawer (I love this one!), holds the big 40lb bags of kibble. (note all their drawers are full-extension):

Tray storage and platter storage:

Cutting board and baking sheet storage pullouts:

Rollouts, and then we asked for some extra shelves to hold some skinny stuff at top; no probs, they just made some extra shelves for us and brought them by the next day:

Drawers with movable dividers. Recommended 4-base drawers instead of traditional pot drawers since with all-drawer bases there are plenty of deep drawers already, do the 4-drawer stacks give better storage for pans and bowls vs. having to stack them in deep drawers. Made lots of dividers custom sized to each drawer (some horizontal, some vertical) ... they just wedge in there, but we can unwedge and move them so it's flexible if you want to reorganize your storage:

Well, that's probably more than you wanted to know! But I've been meaning to give Concept Cabinets a good recommendation for some time now and you just gave me a good excuse! Definitely consider them if you want to maximize your storage and get a great quality product and service as well.

Good luck and have fun with your kitchen, kf095.

Theresa: finally!!!!! I was hoping you would post some pictures. I love the kibble drawer--just love that...so handy..
I was thinking after we move in, to do some changes ie like adding a upper hutch cabinet with glass doors, and changing some of the doors to match that. And changing the island to a big profile.
