Hi everyone,
I was wondering how much notice intracorp gave you before the pdi? We just received an email telling us ours will be the day before our closing date. This seems crazy To me. First,
We close the Wednesday before Easter and this would mean that my wife and I would have to take the move day and the day before for the inspection of a week that is already short. Secondly, this would give them no time to fix anything that was found at the inspection before we move in.
According to Builder Bulletin 42 in Builder Responsibilities Rule 2 near the top of page 6 - the builder must -
"make an appointment with the purchaser well in advance to conduct the PDI at a time that is mutually convenient".
You are right, that the disadvantage of doing the PDI one day before possession is that the builder will have less time to repair minor issues but the advantage is that the house has less time without supervision for workers to come and go to and from the home, possibly bringing in dirt, scratching floors, putting metal tool boxes on counters etc.
