I hear some talks for some new pitcher... Really? With another 110 games to go don't you think it's still fairly early to press the panic button? I personally have faith this team can pull it through... Do you?

Looks like they are going to be a .500 ball club again this year. They are still too streaky. Win a few, lose a few, win one, lose two. They were staying close but I don't think they have all the pieces yet. Doesn't help either when freaking Baltimore is lighting it up! :(

I agree with csb. I think they are not consistent enough to pull through yet. I think another pitcher might not be a bad idea.

I think getting another pitcher would be a waste, they have tons of talented guys coming up through the minors. What it would cost to get a decent pitcher right now I wouldn't want to give up, would rather get a big bat in the lineup.

However Miilzo a lot of those pitchers are still a few years away. With a couple of small pieces (bigger name vets) added to this roster, I think the Jays could make a strong push. We can't keep waiting for the farm to be ready. If we can be at 5 games or better behind, I'd like to see if AA will pull the trigger on something big this trade deadline. I'd be more than willing to give up a bit of the farm. The time is the next couple of years, not years from now.

Though the latest rumour I heard is that the Jays front office really think next year is the year.

Next year is always "the year". Just an excuse to say we aren't going anywhere THIS year.

Good point! :)

Though I do like AA. I still have faith in this guy.

If we were 1 or even 2 players away I might agree, but to give up prospects for a rental that might not even be here next year is a fairly large gamble. Better moves can be had in the offseason if we're really going for it next year. Even though we've all heard the "next year is the year" routine, we haven't been this loaded in talent in 20 years - talent which will eventually be turned into something useful.

Jays fans/management are starting to sound a lot like Leafs fans/management. "Wait 'til next year!" "We're really close!" "Just one more piece"
