Yeah to see them all get soaked (esp the board games in cardboard boxes) would be a shame..

I hope all the stuff is going to the womens shelter or if not to people who could really use the things... anything aslong as theyre not being re-sold !

I can't remember what the boxes said. But, she told me to put my stuff BESIDE the green box close to the building. So the building is 498...beside the police station. So there are two green boxes in a little spot across from the driveway, and then there's one right at the back of the building (which you drive past on your way in). When I went to the front, she told me to bring it to the back and put it beside the green box. She said they check out there every couple of hours and bring stuff in. You can read the green boxes to see what they say....but from what I understood, the stuff beside the green box goes to them.

This is from their website:

There are so many options that your generosity can assist with! Please call Carm Bozzo, Development Manager at 905-332-1200, ext. 222 or by email at cbozzo@haltonwomensplace.com if you would like to fund any of the above or if you would like to assist HWP in any other way. We look foward to hearing from you.

That's the person that I emailed....she got back to me quickly...email her and see! :)

It's always best to contact the women's shelter first as Soupy suggested because otherwise the shelter can become innundated with donations they can't process.

Don't forget about women's clothing too. I've been there several times with nice business clothes to help give them a new start, to make them feel better or if they are entering the work force. I always called ahead and someone would meet me out back.

I was thrown by the policy of not entering at first, but understood that they must protect their women and children from possible abusive spouses or those trying to gain entry for the wrong reasons.
