No letter of delay yet, we have another week and a half before our closing date becomes official. Hopefully we don't have any delays either.

That's great Dan. From what I'm hearing, homes in our neighbourhood are on schedule.

I'm so excited to move into the new place--not so thrilled about the dust and lack of grass this year though :(

Just fixed our appointment for the PDI and Key delivery. Exited for the new house and to meet new neighbours and nervous with all the work to do.

Framewalk scheduled for Monday. This is getting exciting!

Any words of wisdom on what to look for? :)

Ask them to move it, it's not a big deal. I visit my home almost daily to monitor progress and communicate with the builder regularly to bring up issues as I see them. So far, everything except one change request has been accommodated. It's been a very positive experience.

They put in a landing in my garage instead of 2 steps, damn grading!

PDI is next week, can't wait, almost ready!!

They put mine in the hallway instead of the kitchen
So mad!

I walked through today and just noticed that they did the exact same for me. What is the point of video monitoring if I need to stand in the front hall to view it. I will be requesting that they move it in the kitchen as we specified on Monday.

I also noticed that one of my central Vac leads is about three or four feet from an outlet which I will ask them to add to avoid that distance between them.

Everything else looks okay.

You want to look to ensure everything you ordered at the sales office and the design centre are present. Check for any defects or things that you think should be there but aren't (finish on walls, fit/finish of flooring, cabinetry, gas/water lines, open/close all doors, all faucets hot and cold, gas fireplace operation, range fan operation, outdoor water tap function). Check the locations of things (range fan vent locations, alarm keypad and video monitor locations, light switches, power outlets, TV conduit setup (if applicable)).

Make sure the cold room light has a cage around the bulb (it is code).

Did you end up with a landing in your garage or 2 steps?

Sandeep -

What are the pros/cons of having steps vs. landing in garage?

I prefer steps because it takes up less space in the garage. Unfortunately, if you have more than 2 steps between garage entry to home and the floor of garage, you need a landing/railing. Will need to brainstorm some alternate ideas once I move in since the builder needs to respect building code to close the home.

Oh I'm not dwelling on it! I enjoy construction projects, it is what it is. Many, many things have gone our way so far so I definitely can't complain! :)

I'm interested in an AC group by as well. We'd probably get a better deal in the off-season, end of October possibly?
