I get home yesterday and based on the news that this slush will freeze I made a concerted effort to clear the end of my driveway AGAIN.

Then I went out, only to return home to find that some idiot plow driver had come down the street and blocked my driveway with a significant pile of this heavy slush.

All my work earlier was for nothing. Making matters worse our street was fine and did not need to be plowed. This was very inconsiderate of this plow driver who obviously has nothing better to do other than deliberately drive down clear roads blocking peoples driveways.

A smart candidate in 2014 would make a campaign promise for a bylaw to outlaw pushing your snow/slush in to another individual's driveway or the street.

Nothing better to do, other than the job he was told by someone to do. If the plow was able to push snow/slush back to your driveway, then that means there was still a lot left on the street. Sometimes you need to clear your driveway more than once. Sometimes the snow will be heavy. Buy a snowblower if the exercise scares you, but there's no sense whining about it.

What do you know ??? Nothing.

Like I said, ( and because you did not understand my post ), my street, a quite crescent, was perfectly fine and was clear of snow, and did not need to be plowed AGAIN. I'm sure any idiot driving those things can scrape up enough snow and unnecessarily block driveways which is exactly what was done. And BTW, I have a snowblower and don't mind the work. What I mind is wasting my time because of someone elses bad judgement.

Maybe you should save your comments for things that you know something about instead of criticizing others inappropriately.

You're funny Jack.

But you should read posts before you comment about them.

I will repeat just for you.

I said - "my street, a quite crescent, was perfectly fine and was clear of snow, and did not need to be plowed AGAIN. I'm sure any idiot driving those things can scrape up enough snow and unnecessarily block driveways which is exactly what was done."

Not sure about you Jack, but on my quiet crescent we don't need the town to be running up and down our street repeatedly with a plow trying to get every speck of snow off the road. We are adults and can deal with it.

BTW Jack. This "issue" did not just negatively effect me, it unnecessarily effected neighbours and friends and elderly folks who are now stuck with a dam of solid ice at the ends of their driveways.

I'm ending this "conversation" now. Have a nice day. There is no need for me to debate something with someone who has no direct knowledge on the situation.

Sounds like a no-win abortion debate. People complain if the snow is not plowed and people complain if all the snow is plowed. Oy vey.

Well,,, I don't complain much about the town.

I just think it's weird that this fool thought it was necessary to plow my street when it was already been cleared of snow a few times. His only accomplishment was to block our driveways with copious quantities of heavy slush that was about to freeze. I can understand them wanting to "fine tune" their work on through streets but I live on a quiet crescent and we were perfectly fine without these butt-heads plowing the street over and over and blocking our driveways every time someone looks the other way. Obviously this driver had nothing better to do and I highly doubt he was "instructed" to do it. I think it was more like "looking busy" than doing anything useful.

Same thing on Syndenham Lane. The plow didn't need to come the second time ad the road was adequately plowed. Oh well, fact of life, shoveled again and went on with my day. Winter in Canada. I'm fine with it.

My request to the city officials is that please and I repeat please ask the plow team to have some consideration when plowing and throwing the snow on driveways, I have cleaned twice since this morning and the plow guy has twice thrown half the streets snow on my drive way, I have tried calling the city engineering dept as usual it says leave a message.

I am sure the city officials can understand what it takes to clear "Wet Snow" twice and now I have to do 3rd time.

All it takes for the plow to get the correct angle on the blade.
NO....the driveways here it Milton are TOO DAM close together for that to work, changing blade angle for each driveway would take 10X longer to plow, it would be almost stop & go.

Im wondering if the 2nd or 3rd time around is to clear the drains by the curb, so we dont end up with lakes at the end of our driveways... I dont know, just taking a stab.

Stupid campaign issue. I suggest they campaign on a real platform, not something so asinine!
