Would appreciate recommendations for a mason who can take care of some exterior brick mortar repair. I did a quick search of the forum and could not find a lot.

40 yr old brick house that needs some tuck pointing on the chimney, and cap stone replaced. Also chimney hoods (keep the rain out of the chimney). And some general mortar repair around rest of house exterior.

Not a recommendation so much as a pointer. I've been needing to get some chimney work done as well, and saw this guy working on my neighbour's house. His gut feel estimate seemed a bit high, but to be honest I'm not sure where to even start looking so I grabbed his card.
