Andy,

I'm on Rogers as well and I get poor reception. I live in the Clark/Thompson area.

It's that area that is bad. I am with Rogers over by Home Depot and my reception is fine. I have heard other complaints about bad cell phone reception in HV. Not sure if one carrier is better then the other.

I have had Rogers for years and don't have any trouble.

A year ago my reception was very poor. I would have one small bar showing and then it would totally drop as I drove around. I took the phone in and it was definately a phone problem. They fixed the phone and I have been fine ever since.

I am with Bell and my reception is terrible. I have lots of dead spots in my house and drop calls all the time. I talked to the people at the Bell store and they said we are suppose to get a new cell phone tower which should solve our problems, but I don't know when it is actually going to happen.

As to be expected, the closer you are to the 401, the better your reception is. I guess the cell phone service providers still think we live in the boonies!

I just wish I had the cell phone coverage the Jack Bower has on 24. Anyone notice that he NEVER drops a call and he is always in crazy places that would never get cell phone reception! I am just jealous!!!

Bell service in HV is not the best (Trudeau and Clark). I get a weak signal and dropped calls all the time. I've brought this to Bell's attention and the response was that when they get more customers in the area they will improve the service! How do they expect to get more customers if they have bad service?

Rogers/Telus should both be fine for coverage, as they installed a new tower here not too long ago. I moved to Rogers and it is great.
I would check your phone, and see if you need new hardware.

Bell, on the other hand....is HORRIBLE in most areas of HV, as Bell does not have a tower in the area. (You build a bunch of houses in a field, and there isn't any reception as you can't get the signal from the highway or wherever it is anymore)

They have been saying for 5 years now that they are building a new one, and I haven't seen anything yet.....Good Luck.

Jessica :)

telus is 200% better since the new tower. I am on the Mike network and it works great. The telus tower though is open to Bell, not sure if they have equipment there or not.

Telus and Bell have an agreement to share towers, so if bell has poor coverage in an area, one would assume that telus would as well.

I am with Rogers and no problems whatsoever.

Marc

my reception with Rogers is great.. but it was crap before we got new phones. so it was definately hardware related.
a friend of mine has bell mobility and she sometimes has problems.

We've got two new phones from Rogers (GSM), got them both in December, reception is absolutely terrible in our house. We originally got them with the intention of using them instead of a land line, but have had to get a land line phone as well because the cells are too unreliable in the house. The only place we can get a decent reception is to stand right up against the bay windows in the dining room...anywhere else and it breaks up so you only hear every 4th word.

My wife has telus and the cell service is great. I can send/receive calls from the telus phone from my basement.

My work cell is bell mobility and if im outside of a 3 sqr foot radius (my special spot) in the house, the cell wont work.

Rogers has spotty service in and around this area and Virgin is analog once you drive into Milton.

My recommendation is Telus...by far. Communication Zone at Main/25 by M&M Meats ... great service.
