o.O OMG. Those pics aren’t gross, ^^^that story is gross. I didn’t know such moths existed. Ew.

That’s what you get for owning a bird. Gross.

I don't own a bird I was feeding the wild birds... Grrr makes it even more frustrating! I stopped feeding them for about 3 years after that

If you ever walk into any store and see these moths, just leave the store don't by anything

Yes I highly suggest that, I'd say it's the best way to get rid of them. If it ever happens to me again I'm doing that, sound so much easier then the PCO way.

But seriously, I'd check your Quinoa for worms or see if it's clumped together (eggs)... ewww If it was in there is most likely laid some eggs, in a few day or weeks... Worms in your Quinoa - What is Quinoa anyways?

Get that bag out of your house! Sit it somewhere in your back yard if your looking to return it. Those moths will cause you months of trouble if they get into your house. They will lay eggs on every dry food you have. Those worms will be found in your cereal box, pasta boxes, KD... I would not by anymore food goods from CT cause that entire store is most likely infested now.

I got those little moths from Bird food, I had stored in my pantry, they are so hard to get ride of I had to call PCO they came set a little trap for the moths. I then was instructed to check all my cereal boxes, pasta, cookies, flour... Everything had to be placed in an air tight plastic containers. It took me 3 months to get ride if these things.

Check your cereal boxes if you have had that bag of food in your house for a few weeks.

I no longer will keep bird food in my house. I keep it outside in one of those Halton green bins in the shed.

For more information on these moth google meal moth or kitchen moth

Thankfully I only had the bag for a few hours before noticing what was in it. It has since been disposed of and all Canadian Tire would do is refund my money. They have yet to do anything about the remaining bags in the aisle, with moths flying all over them.

So I looked this up. They are called Pantry Moths. I should link to the source, but I think posting it would give a better ick factor:

How To Identify Pantry Moths

Larvae in Food: When the eggs hatch, the larvae will spin webs in the infested food. You’ll see the clumps of webbing and the little whitish worms. They start out really tiny but can grow to 2/3” long with black or brown heads. You may also see tiny cast-off skins after the worms have moved away.

Larvae in Home: Look for the larvae moving about or hanging from the walls, often near the ceiling. They’re looking for a nice dark crevice to pupate and turn into moths.

Cocoons: You may also see the webby cocoons on top of cabinets and in corners.

Flying Moths: You may find the small, half-inch long, brownish moths flying around your kitchen and pantry, usually around lights at night.

Thanks for letting us know :)

I never buy food from Canadian Tire and only buy from pet stores. i buy arcana or orijen for my pooch which are vacuum packed. This ensures the freshness of a product and unlikely to get investations

Holy Crap!! That is completely disgusting!

First off, I'm sorry that your pup got sick from eating this. I hope she feels better soon.

Secondly, I'm completely appalled that neither Canadian Tire or Pedigree seems to be taking this serious!

I would be taking this to CP24 or elsewhere!

Awful, just awful

I think you should take those pictures and your story to the Champion. You can educate a much wider range of people and maybe get Crappy Tire to pay attention.

I've thought about that but the only information I could find would be to pay for an advertisement and I don't think I would do that! I almost want to stand in front of Crappy Tires pet isle and warn everyone until the police are called on me.

Update!!

Pedigree has yet again decided to do nothing about the situation. They somehow think my dogs illness (who is much better now) has nothing to do with the worms that were in their bag of dog food. Everyone do me a favor, do not support them! Don't buy their products.
