I used the one in Oakville last year. It's right across from the GO station at Trafalgar. In and out in less than half an hour. Always hated waiting in the long lines in Mississauga.

Dude, you used the internet to ask this question. Why didn't you just google it?

There is one in Brampton as well. Sometimes busy, sometimes not.

I don't think there is a Passport Canada Office in Oakville? The 2 that I know about close by are below. Plus there's always the one in downtown toronto on Victoria Street.

Passport Canada office
Central Parkway Mall
377 Burnhamthorpe Road East, Main Floor, Suite 22
Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Passport Canada Office
40 Gillingham Drive, Suite 401
Brampton ON
Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Oakville has a Passport Receiving Agent at 117 Cross Avenue, Suite 5B. Which is slightly different than a Passport Office (see http://www.ppt.gc.ca/info/agents.aspx?lang=eng)

A matter of semantics. If I can get a passport or renew one there, to me, it's the sane thing. Much more convenient than Mississauga, Hamilton or Toronto

That's the 117 Cross Ave one, which is a "passport receiving agent"... on their web page they can do everything a normal passport office can do... except...

They cannot do...
An Urgent or Express application.
An application where a passport that is still valid for more than one year is submitted with the new passport application.
A child's application if only one of the parents is participating.
Verbal or written evidence or documentation concerning a lost, stolen, inaccessible, damaged or found passport.
Any application where the applicant does not have a guarantor and is using a Statutory Declaration in Lieu of Guarantor (PPTC 132).
Any requests other than standard adult, child and renewal applications.
Application involving a change of name.

So if the oakville location is closer, and none of they above apply to you, go there.

fyi http://www.ppt.gc.ca has all the definitive info on passport renewals.

I think you also can't pick up your new passports at the receiving agent, I think if you use a receiving agent it means your new passport will be mailed to you versus local pickup. Don't think that matters to most people though. I wanted the mailed option anyways, saves me another trip.

I have found the Brampton passport office to be the fastest by far. Stay clear of Mississauga.

I've been to the Hamilton one and got my passport in a week!
A few of my friends as well gone there.

It's about the same distance as the Brampton location and I find Hamilton is generally empty compared to the Brampton office. Probably because many people who live there can't afford to go away...

Anyone know if the Oakville location allows you to keep the birth certificate/supporting documentation? We need to get a passport for our newborn but still need his birth certificate for other things, so I don't want to send it off. I know that if you use the Mississauga or Kitchener locations, they check that they saw the documents but allow you to keep them.

Used the Mississauga office just before Christmas to do an express application. If you can get there between lunch and 3 PM the wait isn't bad (30-45 mins). Would imagine before lunch is similar though don't have personal experience. The lines increased dramatically after 3 PM.
