I'm going to be a very very late adopter to this tech. I can't see the point to it outside of it being new and cool and another reason to have a cell phone to thumb around with.

I'm sure my day to day routines are quite similar to anyone who works. You sleep at night, you get up, get ready for work, go to work, come home, rinse and repeat.

So I already have a programmable thermostat that knows my routine... so why is this tracking software needed exactly?

From what I've seen the best case scenario savings these things boast take a long time to make it worth while.

I don't disagree. I got this one mainly because I'd just moved and the new house didn't have a programmable. As it was free, figured I'd try it. The only feature I really wanted was the ability to change the temperature remotely (nice to come home to a warm/cool house after a vacation or weekend away.)

That was it - thanks. Turned smart recovery off, and heat turned off immediately.

I encountered the same issue a few weeks ago, same solution paid off. The house got really warm at 6AM even though it was set to warm by 7:30AM.
