I wouldn't put it past some agents. When my sister put her house up for sale and was considering a milton agent or the 1% agency that sold my house in Mississauga, the milton agent told her that the milton agents were not going to let the 1% guys get into town and would never bring people to see her house. Considering I see more and more 1% signs, many of them with "SOLD"s on em, I could see the bad agents getting desperate and doing stuff like that.

The good agents, like a few I've seen on these boards, probably lowered their % a bit and are still making more money than ever, and more power to them.

hybrid, if it's an 85% chance it's agents vs. a 15% chance on kids, how do we calculate the probability that it's an agent's kids? :)

Alternatively, it could be the new breed of middleschool agent (e.g. agent/kid) aiming to supplement their weekly allowance with some real estate commissions. XBoxes aren't cheap.

seriously, i thought a real esate agents response to for sale by owner signs was to call them to convince them they were crazy to sell a house on their own and they would be better off with them as an agent..

i have heard of agents taking down open house signs... but if it was an agent, and they were worried about competition, wouldn't they just remove the sign rather than chop it up into little peaces  unless they have some serious rage issues...

btw, i doubt it was an agent on this board ... from what i see they are all doing great. a good reputation goes a long way.

lol.. well the action wasn't funny, but this thread is. You guys gave me a good laugh this morning... figuring probabilities of an agents kid... too funny :D

Sucks your sign was destroyed! Hope it doesn't happen again.

I've heard of this happening a lot.
Here's one for you. I have a listing at 1669 Clark. I have an information box attached to the sign full of colour flyers with a description of the home. I put up the sign on Thursday night and the owner called me today to tell me that someone had actually pulled my sign out of the lawn and stuck it in the neighbour's lawn. They also took all the flyers out too.
Could be kids, other agents, a home owner in the area who's also selling, who knows.

Cliff

Agents can get in BIG trouble for messing with signs. It's in the National Code of Ethics.

Besides, if someone saw them, words spreads very fast in a small town. Not likely.

Probably some kids.
