Anyone mention insulation problems yet ? Obviously this can cause cool or cold top floor rooms.
These IR images are from ONE home during a recent 30 day inspection. The dark areas represent areas where insulation is missing and they are cold. This is a result of poor workmanship and a code violation that prevents this. I expect all the homes on this street suffer from the same problem. Some of these cold areas in the photos were visible from the attic hatch but some were not visible. Either way, Infra Red finds them all.
Anyways, this OP's problem is in one room over the porch. If the attic insulation is not a problem in that room then I suspect that the insulation below the floor of this room was not done very well. If there is an Air Return in this room it should be close to the floor, not high on the wall.
Also OP should keep in mind that most rooms have 1 or 2 exterior walls, some have 2 2/3rds exterior walls. This is usually in front bedrooms that "protrude" at the front of the home.
