I am pretty sure what you are referring to is Phase 12 back last year where Laurie and Dave started it all ;)

Hi...

We waited in line for the final release of the 56' homes for phase 13....back in January/05...

There was about 9 of us in total and we were first.. We lined up starting the Wednesday night when news spread that the release would be that weekend. I was told that the head office found out that 1) there was a woman who was 9 months pregnant (that would be me) in line, and 2) it was really cold out, they let us in to sign on Friday afternoon.

The big line up for Phase 13 was last year....and people were lined up for days....thankfully when they did the large release...the weather was alot warmer!

Well the line up rumours are definetly true! Though it seems like the line up for the last phase (phase 13), had a shorter line up, probably because of the lot sizes being released and the fact that it was the middle of winter!

My husband Dave and I (we were engaged at the time), started the line up on the Monday morning at 8:00am (when the release date for the phase was the upcoming Saturday). So, it was a good 5-6 days we had planned on waiting in line to get the lot and house we wanted (but they released them on the Friday to get some of the first people through and out of there). There were a couple rainy and chilly nights, but we all braved the nights for what we really wanted. Mattamy bought us all pizza one night, and offered us food and coffee from the coffee truck that showed up 2-3 times a day. It was difficult and we called in "sick" a number of days that week, but we'd never trade that experience for anything because we met all of our fantastic neighbors on that porch!

The very first night there were 14 people/couples in line! And yes, we had a list and by the end of the week there were well over 200 people signed up on it.

Who knows if there will be a line up for the next phase - maybe you should find out what Nick (sales rep) is saying? (last time he started a rumour that people were coming to line up early in the week so everyone got "scared" and started the line up sooner than we all wanted and expected!)

Best of Luck in the next phase!

Laurie

It's true Greg, we didn't have a night where it was minus 30, but Catherine was right that it was damn cold many nights.

We can't beat you on the temp. that night, but then again you only had to wait 1 night - where my husband and I waited for 5!!

:D

Either way, we all made the sacrifices necessary to be part of The Village, and I'm sure we'll all be great friends and neighbors for a long time.

Laurie

Me and My wife were there in June to buy our house.

We were #98 in line and we did buy Phase #13 townland semi.
The two nights we were there was a lot of fun felt like camping.
Meeting some new neighbors,Having some beers,Great fun.
Had my blow up couch and chair out, only thing that was missing was a camp fire.

Hi Lloyd,

Just to clarify...you were at the Mattamy Sales centre Last June and bought a phase 13 semi?

I'm just a little confused.

Tim

Hi Tim&Sandra

Yep we bought our house June 26 2004.
What i think mattamy was doing was selling Phase 12 And Phase 13.
Maybe phase 12 was more detached and phase 13 at that time was semi's and towns.

Taxman,

There is also this fact,
if you want to be off the main road
be prepared to pay a premium for your lot
starting at $5K, 8K, 9K, 15K, 20K up to 50K...

Also, if there are alot of peoplt in line,
they might start selling a day early, like they did in phase 12.
And another point, they might raise the prices a couple of days
after opening the sale of the new phase (again like phase 12)

You really might want to be there and CAMP!

Sandra
