Can anyone recommend some registered or licensed daycares in the area? Most of the existing posts are home-based daycares.

If you can recommend one, a) what is the youngest age they take? and b) what kind of prices do they charge?

Thanks for your help.

Some only take children aged 18 months and up but I am pretty sure THe Familyt Place out of Bishop Reding HS takes infants at about $50/day. They may have a waiting list though...

I forgot Peek a Boo Daycare on Maple. My sister takes her kids to the one in Camebridge and is very pleased with them

There is also Cuddley Corner in the new A&P plaza mall. They charge about $50/day but not sure if they take younger than 18 months.

$50/DAY!!!??? Are you SERIOUS?? I'm going to have an embolism after hearing that...I'm due to go back to work next February and was NOT budgeting on that hefty a price. I sure hope that's not the "going rate" these days for most daycares...I still heard that $35-$40 was the average....

Oppps...it's actually $40/day but there are more expensive places than that out there. I know Peek a Boo is more than Cuddly Corner. Ain't cheap raising a kid but worth every penny! P.S. Sorry I gave you an embolism :D

IIRC, when I was looking for infant care in town it was generally $45 a day for kids under 18 months (but only 2 places at the time took infants, and both had insanely long waiting lists). Prices go down as the child gets older.

My daughter and my nephew both went into fulltime daycare at 12 months of age. It was about 900-1000$ each. I am in Toronto and he is in Milton so the prices are pretty close. It does get significantly cheaper as they get older. Maybe home daycare would be better, it is way more affordable and they are some great people out there doing it.

check out my post under "full time day care" if you want a great home daycare lady.

I have been using her for 4 years with no problems at all! I have friends whose familly knows her for almost 20 years now.

I saw that post Matt and sincerely wish I could consider her but I won't need daycare till February 2008! So I doubt she'll have spots open by then but I'll certainly keep her in mind when the time comes!
