CONGRATS, things can get done when the people speak....

efw plant would have been a disaster

whats left....kill the power plant and keep your eyes on the CN INTERMODAL

I was always undecided on the issue but to clarify as well, they did not totally nix it as I quote the champion;
'the planning and public works committee endorsed a motion that says the Region won't become the proponent for EFW now, but rather five years down the road.'
So I guess in 5 years from now the issue will come up again as they also stated that technology may change by then to make it even more environmentally friendly. Maybe the region/town/citizens can get their act together now and do some serious recycling/diversion so that this won't be needed in five years from now. Just my 2 cents.
