I want to know who is the CLOWN who authorized the start of the resurfacing of 4th Line today without putting up ANY notification for drivers to expect delays!! 4th Line and Britiannia was a mess this morning. They had the heavy equipment working in the left lane (if you are facing south towards Britiannia) so those people travelling north were stuck - northbound was backed up to the other side of Britiannia. And for us southbound drivers on 4th it felt like sitting on QEW during rushhour. Those guys holding the Slow/Stop signs obviously didn't know how to turn them because it honestly felt that they both had them on stop!

Don't get be wrong, I KNOW work on the road had to be done. I understand construction is a fact of life, especially in new subdivisions. But the LAST notification was for this work was NOVEMBER 2006. When that date came and went, that sign was taken down. Until this morning, I had no idea work was scheduled to start today.

THANKS to whoever for the heads-up! :x

Yeah, I hear your pain, I was stuck on 4th line this morning going southbound and was late for work. Maybe Colin Best could shed some light as to why again, this was poorly planned. On a positive note, at least we won't need to slalom around 4th line anymore or fix our alignment...hey, can we send our car bill to the town/region? :D

Hi everyone
Sorry about the delay's, I did not get any notice either (check with your ward councillors Barry Lee, Rick Day and Brian Penman for more details) I will raise the concerns with Paul Cripps the Town Engineer tonight and the Planning and Administration Committee.

Just to let everyone know if you did not see the notice in the papers that Britannia Road will be closed from Friday June 29th to Monday July 2nd for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be diverted along Louis St. Laurent Blvd. between Thompson and 4th Line for those days. Will make sure they put some notices up beforehand.
Colin Best
Local & regional councillor
Wards 2 & 4.

This morning was horrible. No signs and they totally blocked the Forth Line at Britania because thay had to drop some dirt and roll it at 7:00 AM, right at rush hour. That's idiotic and if the town tolerates that, whomever in charge should be fired.

Somebody at the town probably thinks the sign they put up last year for the November 2006 construction date was enough notification. I was under the impression that construction was to begin in November 2006 and NOT ANYTIME AFTER November 2006. :x

I think there was a sign there last summer but no time line or anything. I assumed it was for North of Louis St Laurant.

The only rant I have over the whole thing is the people that don't know how to drive on a gravel road. 10-20km is not the normal for gravel roads. Give me a break and learn to drive!
