I decided I was tired of waiting-I emailed Kelly to find out today if the Widelot townhomes are expected to be delayed.

We have a long while to go yet, but I'd like to know if she has any suspicions at all.

Email Kelly.
She's pretty speedy at responses.

I couldn't handle the wait anymore either.... and other then digging down a bit in the ground, thats all that has been done on our lot so i was started to figure we would be delayed.

Kelly finally got back to me.

Basically say they may anticipate another delay, but if there is it doesn't sound it would be longer than 2 weeks......

I only a max of 15 days because of what she wrote in her email. I'll paste it below;

For a second delay notice, we must provide you with 35 days written notice for a delay of up to 15 days. In this case, we would have to notify you no later than October 17, 2007. We may notify you in writing of a 5 day delay at any time, up to and including your scheduled closing date.

No where in there does she mention about a major delay. You need to be notified 65 days for a major delay.........

I think the waiting is killing us all...

I'm hoping they aren't huge delays since it really looks like they are working over on the lots now.

My thought is that we should have info on the delays by Mattamy U on the 31st.

I e-mailed Kelly also, asking about the Main Street Towns. this is what she said

"Thank you for your email. After speaking with our Construction Manager, I have been advised that we are anticipating a delay for your lot. Unfortunately, at this time, I’m not sure what the length of the delay will be. We are currently in the process of reviewing our construction schedule to determine a revised closing date. I do apologize that we require to delay the closing on your home, however, please know that Mattamy wants to ensure that we have adequate time to build your home to the quality standards that you would expect from Mattamy Homes.

In accordance with the guidelines of Tarion, the builder can impose a maximum of 120 days delay. We are, however, required to provide you with the following notice:

For a delay of up to 120 days, we must provide you with 65 days written notice. In this case, we would have to notify you no later than August 27, 2007.

For a delay of up to 15 days, we must provide you with 35 days written notice. In this case, we would have to notify you no later than September 26, 2007.

We may notify you in writing of a 5 day delay at any time, up to and including your scheduled closing date.

If builders follow these guidelines, compensation to the homeowner does not apply. For more information about the delay guidelines you may visit their website at www.tarion.com. Berta, I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. "

I am guessing it will be 2 months, since that seems to be the length everyone else got delayed....... this just sucks

no we have not been delayed before. They can actually delay you again? Does the 120 days MAX start at your original closing, or it starts on your new closing?

It's funny, but in reality I second rwa-we have too much to pay off before we move in, we're supposed to close in May, but late June would be much better. Anytime before the wedding, even mid July would be great, lol.

In respone to the post that stated the first home will be delivered on the 31st, there has been a delay. We were at the site yesterday and a Mattamy employee informed us that the first home will be delivered to site on August 13th. Just wanted to let everyone know so there's not a huge disappointment if anyone pops by the site tomorrow.

:(

Yeah, someone mentioned this in another thread. Christine and I were going to go check it out. Oh well...
