I invite all HVers to use Hawthorne Pharmacy for their family's medication needs.

We are an (fiercely) independent pharmacy, with a focus on your family's healthcare, not potato chips and pool chemicals.

We offer Value with a capital V: The best possible care at very competitive prices - much lower than the major chains. If necessary, we will also match any print-advertised price on any item we sell in the store.

At Hawthorne Pharmacy, we know your time is important. Our prescription wait times are the lowest anywhere in town. People generally don't wait more than 5 or 10 minutes for their prescriptions (unless, of course, they bring a laundry list! In that case we offer free delivery.)

We are open longer hours than any independent pharmacy in the area: Monday to Friday 9am to 9pm, and Saturday 9am to 5pm :D

My associate pharmacist, Olena, works Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I generally work Tuesdays and Thursdays, and do outreach the rest of the week. Altaf and Brad rotate Saturday shifts.

I also speak Urdu/Hindi, Punjabi, Italian, Spanish, and some French (and occasionally English). Olena also speaks Russian and Ukrainian, and understands Polish.

We have three family doctors accepting patients in our plaza: Drs. Dhiraj, Gleisner, and Latif. We have chiropractic, physiotherapy, and dental practitioners on-site. We would welcome a holistic/naturopathic practitioner to join us as well. Please PM me with your information.

H is for Hawthorne. For us, it also stands for: Health and Healing, Happiness, Holistic, Herbal, Honesty, and Harmony.

P is for Pharmacy. For us, it also stands for: Price, Product, Professionalism, Privacy, Planning, Prevention, and Proactivity.

(I was going to say that V is for Village, as well as for Value, but more good V-words are really hard to come up with!)

I hope you will try us out, and recommend us to your friends and family. Thank you.

We have used your pharmacy many times and have been very impressed with the both your service and speed in filling our prescriptions.

There have been a few occasions where we have come back from a walk in clinic with a sick child and a prescription in hand. Our prescriptions are filled immediately and we don't have to hike all the way up to Walmart (our usual pharmacy for regular refills) and wait 30 minutes for our prescription.

Both our drug plans are accepted at your pharmacy and your dispensing fee is only $1 more than what I pay at Walmart.

You have an excellent Pharmacy!

Hi Zoom:

Our prescription fee is $9.99, which (I'm sure) my patients will tell you is a bargain at any price. It is significantly lower than SDM, and about a buck more than the food/mass giants (WalMart, Zellers, A&P) which generally don't offer free delivery, short wait times, pharmacists certified in Diabetes disease state management, or even a sub-500-metre walk to get to the pharmacy counter from your car. (To say nothing of the sheer entertainment value of watching a Pakistani-Canadian pharmacist speaking Italian!)

But seriously, the only way to know what you are missing is to experience it yourself by trying us just one time. I can't count how many times we have been told, "Gee, I have never had a pharmacist take the time to explain my prescriptions like that before." Which is kind of a sad statement, really.

To paraphrase the venerable Dr. Seuss (ahem):

"Try us, try us, and you may. Try us and you may, I say." :D

Hope to see you.

Faisal

Hi Gang:

After some PMs with Carrie, I am pleased to report that the prescription pricing issue was an anomaly (phew!), based on an unusual medication scenario. I hope to provide some further clarification to Carrie tomorrow (translation: get her business).

In the meantime, I expect that the tumbleweeds blowing through the pharmacy are not a sign that my patients have lost any faith in our practice.

I promise that we are still the right pharmacy choice for HVers and their families, and I sincerely thank you for your confidence. :)

Faisal

Next time we need a perscription, we will give you a try.

I spoke to my wife about it and the drive to Walmart and the 45 minute wait which usually means driving home, then back again to pick it up is just too much!

Is it possible to fax a perscription in and provide the original on pick up if you are an existing customer?? Not sure if there are any legal issues on this...

Thanks
Matt

Faisal,

I kept my promise and used your pharmacy last night. I am hooked. I was in and out in less then 10 minutes and did not have to cross town, wait 45 minutes at Walmart, then drive back.

I also had my wife and children added to the computer so my wife can just pop in and get the kids perscriptions without having to get them set up.

Maybe I will bump into you next time.....

Matt

Hi Matt:

I'm glad you had a good experience with our staff. Maybe I'll catch you next time.

Best regards,

Faisal
