for all you runners. I am looking for a good 5km trail. Whereabouts do you run?

I run a ~5km loop within Hawthorne Village, using pathways along Louis St. Laurent and elsewhere. A good tool for mapping a run, using street and hybrid maps is here:

http://www.mapmyrun.com/

Use the "Map New Run" function, and if you go off main streets, you can still map your run accurately when in the hybrid map mode, which shows a satellite photo of the area (e.g. just like Google Maps, etc.) Using this, you can map your own 5km run, or any other distance you prefer.

yup, JoAnne, did notice that, thanx. although i might make use of the gym only soon when the temp drops.

as for the "map my run" website, i checked that out a bit yesterday. but where my street is supposed to be, it's listed as a driving range! not that i can't get around that by using the closest starting point, i just thought that was odd.

Yeah, I think it is reliant on the Navteq maps, which can be a little out-of-date in some areas. Nonetheless, if you know some general markers on the "old" map related to where you start, run and stop, you can still map it with some accuracy and get your distances.
